If your little ones (heck, any age) loves trains and good ole fashioned Americana food, this is the place for you. Hand pressed burgers will take you back to the 1950s but be warned, gets super busy because of how awesome it is. Highly recommended

Busy on a Saturday immediately after opening.two hamburgers with fries delivered by a small train served in a basket was 26.00 plus tip If you want to see the train just get a soda. Longhorn steakhouse has a way better 9.99 hamburger lunch special. Not many seats so you may wind up standing waiting for a while. Loud music playing. Carnival type atmosphere. Small parking lot that fill up fast. High rise garage next door with available parking

Great place for old fashion burgers and kids absolutely loved toy train delivery of the food. Went to celebrate birthday and they put a candle in the cupcake and turned on birthday song.

A fun place to enjoy a hamburger and a root beer float. It is small so we had to wait for a seat at lunch. No vegetarian option. They did offer a gluten-free cookie. Lots of parking nextdoor.

It’s small and a bit of a wait unusually – but once seated it’s super adorable and the kids always love it. I would not recommend for more than 4-5 people because the side tables only seat 4 (plus a chair they can pull up for 5). Bring some quarters for the horse or “train” ride. Burgers are old school style where they are not thick but crispy on the edges. The kids meals offer some cute variety – everything comes with fries. Enjoy!

Never been to a train themed restaurant before. (I believe, we visited at a time when there crowd wasn’t that bad, so we could have our meal taking our time.) The service was great, the servers were very nice and friendly! Liked the milk shake, the for the train and the train. The five stars are especially for the service!

I’ve been to several Children’s train restaurants and The Choo Choo is decent. However, there are many aspects that could be better. For example, none of the food is delivered on the train that circulates the counter. This is very disappointing as this should be one of the main highlights of this type of restaurant. And the food is average at best.

The Choo Choo restaurant is a fabulous place to take little ones. Just two blocks from the Des Planes train station, it adds a special element to take the Metra train with littles to the restaurant and then have your food delivered train. The staff is amazing with children and the atmosphere is fun and jovial. In case you arrive during the lunch rush, bring some quarters and enjoy watching your littles on the toy horse or mini train car.

I’ve been going here for my birthday every year since 2010 and every time I have had a great experience! The owner is super friendly and the atmosphere is so cool with your food being delivers to you on a mini train (if you sit on the counter)! It’s the perfect place for a birthday and I would 100% recommend the cupcakes, they’re the best ever! Even if you don’t have kids, the food is still great and it’s worth a stop!
