My first time. Venezuela food. Delightful. The hostess was very kind and helpful. Bright colors and decor. Not something typically found in Utah. Absolutely worth a visit if you have never been. I gave a low rating for atmosphere because the music was a bit loud. I did enjoy the cultural music.

Absolutely mouth-watering delicious! We stumbled upon this place when our original destination was closed and we are SO glad we did! It’s amazing and has huge portions.

We were looking for Venezuelan food on Google and found Zaperoco. I’m so glad that we decided to try it out! Everything from the service to the food was perfect! Our waitress knew everything about the foods and was very patient with us explaining all the dishes. We love empanadas so we decided to try all the flavors. The chicken was fresh and seasoned perfectly. The potatoes just melts in your mouth and the beef was perfectly cooked. We then tried the plantain with Venezuelan cheese on top and my 8 year old was obsessed and ate the whole thing. Lastly, we tried their traditional pabellon and we were also pleasantly surprised at how yummy it was! The rice and beans were cooked perfect and the meat was delicous. Wow we cannot wait to go back and try more items from the menu. The inside is really cute and they even have a stage so it would be fun to go there when there is a live performance. Thank you again for being so nice to my kiddos and explaining everything to us on your menu. If you are in the area please add Zaperoco food to your Utah food Bucket list!

Food is good and service is fast. My only suggestion for them is that their menus should have a price! I don’t know who likes to order without knowing the price of their food beforehand. I think that is one of the reasons I don’t go there very often. But food is good.

If you’re looking for darn good Venezuelan arepas in the middle of a non-descript shopping plaza in Lehi, UT, then Zaperoco is the place for you. This small shop was chock full of folks enjoying arepas, tequeno, and empanadas when were there. There are no menus, so either check the website first or download it via a QR code. The folks running the shop are very friendly and are covering all aspects of the place, so service may seem a little bit chaotic. The food is the star here for sure. The Pabellon arepa was excellent. The meat is flavorful and the plantains crispy. The black beans are delicious and do not overpower the arepa. It all comes together into something very delicious. You’ll want to come back for more. Same can be said for the chicken empanada. The tequeno we had was fine. just a cheese stick when all is said and done. I can’t wait to try the other arepas on the menu. This is a great find and one worth visiting again.

OMG/ADM. Stumbled on Zaperoco after a long day of running around and SO glad! Haven’t had Venezuelan food this good in years. Definitely a top 5 restaurant for me overall, and made Utah a little less meh for me. Now when is karaoke, and more importantly is there any bailoteo?!

I lived in Venezuela 35 years ago. My favorite traditional dish was pabellon. The pabellon I loved in Venezuela had fresh fried plantains that were moist and sweet, the black beans were cooked in a sweet sauce, and the shredded beef was very savory, and the dish always came with pan salada (salty bread). That is what I was hoping for. The plantains were not sweet and moist, probably because they are not a fresh local produce, like how peaches from the store are not sweet and moist like those from one’s own orchard. But why the black beans were not sweetened or the shredded beef not savory was lost to me. Perhaps different areas of Venezuela prepare pabellon differently. If that is the case, I prefer the Caracas style to the Maracaibo style…which this must have been.

Great service, they are kind BUT my food was terrible, my empanadas were raw inside. The meat was soggy.

I’ve never had venezuelan food before, but this dish was phenomenal and the staff was so kind and so incredibly helpful. The cheese is made in house and is to die for. Such a fun way to experience a cultural dish I’ve never tried before.
