I heard that Maryland was under new management and decided to give the gizzard a try, hoping they would be better than before. I was sadly disappointed and disgusted. The gizzard are very small, the texture is off for gizzard, and they don’t taste good at all. I wasted 5 dollars because I couldn’t eat them. Not only were they unpleasant to eat, but they had feathers and what looked like bones on them. I lost my appetite and will not be going back for anything on their menu. The 2 stars are for the young ladies inside because they were nice.

I stopped at Marylands in Waycross ordered a 12 piece asked the waiter if I could have some small pieces for my grands.the waiter said ok but then this other waiter came to the window and said that they couldn’t just sell me give small pieces for grands so I told her after I saw she had an attitude to just give me a 12 piece and mix it up with all or whatever she wanted to do. Her name was Tameka someone in my car knew her. I paid 36.00 and when I got home there was broken drumsticks, 1 or 2 brunt pieces and the Cole slaw was very stink and sour. I didn’t have any words with her or anything. I will never order anything from Marylands again. She didn’t know me and I don’t know her. This can’t give me more chicken in return.i don’t trust it with people like her working there.

Last time I went I had my cousin Joe Cook aka Short many knew him over there in the cross. But we all from Nicholls. Our family put him to rest. And our onset uncle wanted Maryland and so did I. Aunt Betty favorite place to get chicken. Se went as a family. It’s a great memory that I will carry that brings my family in to my mind. Cause there forever in my heart. Place used to be one of my favorites places to go growing up. My grandma Shirley, my mom and me would go almost every Sunday. Food and customer service was on point then (80’s & 90’s)… Fried chicken with baked beans, fries, coleslaw & biscuit with honey. So good. Wish we could go back in this time

THIS PLACE REALLY NEED SOME IMPROVEMENTS. FIRST OFF, I UNDERSTAND THE PANDEMIC HAS EVERYTHING A LIL SLOW BUT MARYLAND FRIED WORKERS HAVE NO SPEED AT ALL! THE DRIVE THRU IS ONLY OPEN AND YOU CAN SEE THE WORKERS JUST STANDING THERE WHILE THE LINE IS EXTREMELY LONG. WE WAITED 45 MINUTES BEFORE WE DECIDED TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM..NOT TO MENTION THE PANDEMIC IS ALMOST OVER, WHY NOT OPEN THE INSIDE LIKE THE OTHER RESTAURANTS(SMH). ANOTHER THING I WISH THEY WOULD DO IS CHANGE THAT GREASE MORE OFTEN. AND WHAT’S UP WITH THESE FEATHERS??..REALLY??..AND THEY BUILD THE NERVE TO RAISE THEIR PRICES.
