This is the best southern food I’ve had since I moved here 6 years ago. The atmosphere was like they invited you into their home for a meal. I had the shrimp and grits. It was sooooo good. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and he enjoyed it very much.

Came to Jacksonville, NC for a retirement ceremony; our family decided to eat out afterwards. We found this gem. Wonderful atmosphere, the food was delicious, and the price is affordable. I had the shrimp and grits and it was amazing. The banana pudding cookie was everything. I highly recommend this spot for breakfast/ brunch/ lunch.

Surprisingly very busy on a Thursday brunch, however, serve is fast. Utensils are plastic spoons, forks, and knives. Drinks comes in plastic to-go cups. However, the food are very good! The chicken was kind of the dry side but the syrup helped it. The shrimp and grits is very good! Highly recommend getting that dish.

Got the shrimp and grits and biscuits and gravy, and both were very good. The gravy on the biscuits was thick and rich and the biscuit was nice and fluffy. The only negatives were the shrimp were a bit small. And could have done without the religious Jesus music in background.

My fiancé and I stopped in for a quick breakfast here today and we can’t think of a bad thing to say. The staff was super friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. The chicken was perfectly fried, the sausage gravy was incredible and the banana pudding cookies were out of this world. My fiancé said it’s the best cookie he’s ever had. They also have a convenient drive thru for pick up orders. We can’t wait to go back 🙂

This place is TRUE soul food! I don’t eat other peoples’ greens, but this restaurant makes them so good, I thought I was eating my mother’s recipe. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming, the menu has something for everyone, and the service is so attentive. I will definitely be coming back; this is one stop in NC I will always make.

The staff at Southern Harvest Soul Food were amazing. My family group of 11 came in about 30 mins before they were closing as our first visit. Not only did they graciously seat us. At no time did we ever feel rushed or hurried. They were patient in answering questions and change of minds. They made it the best experience and the food was great. It was so good that i came back the next day to try something else on the menu. I totally suggest this breakfast and brunch spot. 1st day got pork chop sandwich ands next trying breakfast as I write this. The owners should be proud of their establishment.

The BEST fried chicken I have had in over 50 years. You can’t imagine how good it taste, you MUST try it. Everything was joyfully delicious. The cheesy grits are over the top yummy and so are the collards. We didn’t get to try the mac & cheese because it was sold out! This place is special through and through from the kind beautiful man working the dining room to the happy, satisfied diners. There aren’t words to describe how delicious the baked goods are. The red velvet has no rival! The chefs are anointed and the blessing stays with you! Go Now!

My niece, gd, and I went for lunch. Niece said the shrimp and grits were pretty fantastic and they were creamy like grits are supposed to be. GD had the Southern Harvest Burrito. It was huge. She had enough left for dinner and the fries were delicious. I had pork chops, greens, mac n cheese. All of it super tasty. The pork chop was tender and juicy with a nice crispy breading and seasoned just right. Truly home cooking.
