I had never heard of this place and was passing through and saw the good ratings on it! It was worth the drive over! Staff was super friendly even though it was close to closing time. She suggested different items for me as well! Strawberry milk shake was also delicious! I loved how much room there was and options to sit at. Will be back if I’m in the area again!

The Davenport Portillos didn’t disappoint. I had the #1, big Italian beef, it was great The venue had the typical antiques, memorabilia, but this one had a 50s rock n roll section. I’ve never been disappointed at Portillos.

So good! Portillo’s brings classic Chicago eats to eastern Iowa. The Italian beef is highly recommended — get it wet or dry (I prefer wet), with paper-thin shredded beef, slow-cooked in broth, topped with cooked green bell peppers or spicy giardiniera, a combination of spicy diced and pickled veggies. The bread is the secret ingredient — it has the perfect consistency to soak up all the delicious beef juices, but sturdy enough that it holds together without any problem. Other can’t miss entries include the classic Chicago dog and chocolate cake. If they’re offering the chocolate-covered strawberry milkshake, order it. Like the Shamrock Shake, it’s a seasonal item, limited (I think) to January and February. It’s outstanding. Finally, I love the vibe — kitschy fifties memorabilia hang from the walls and rafters, giving the dining area some visual interest above and beyond your generic fast food joint.

The food was super good! It wasn’t too busy, so the service was quick. Enjoyed the experience. We would definitely come back.

Clean restaurant, staff is friendly, plenty of seating. Food was great. I had the double cheese burger meal. My wife had the italian sandwich. Both meals are worth coming back for.

This is a Chicago style diner with classic Chicago street food made better. They have some of the best Italian beef and the sport peppers they add to their hot dogs are amazing. I’m never disappointed with a portillos experience.

This was excellent! They have the Chicago classics you expect. They have Chicago dogs, burgers, Italian beef sandwiches, sausages, & a whole variety of foods. I got an Italian beef with extra gravy which was really good. Whatever they marinated the beef in gave it incredible flavor & it stayed juicy. My wife got a cheeseburger which had a nice char on the outside & she absolutely loved it. We both thought the fries were really good, they actually season them so they aren’t just bland & boring. Then for dessert we split a piece of their chocolate cake, there was no disappointment!

Best Italian beef and cheese fries ever! So happy to have a Portillo’s of our own in the Quad Cities! This is always on our “must eat” list when visiting family. The chocolate cake is moist and rich and totally worth it! I’m also a huge fan of the chopped salad!
