I really like this place! Usually when a restaurant has ‘express’ in their name, it’s anything BUT authentic. Not the case here! My sis got the drunken noodles (which she loved) and I jumped into the yellow curry. Btw they have a daily special that changes and is under 7 bucks. The portions are very hearty. You definitely get more food if you dine in. I almost couldn’t finish my plate. The yellow curry was on point! You can add a spicy level to your plate too. I did the regular spicy and it was quite a bit more heat than i expected. I enjoyed it overall. The flavors blended marvelously. They also have chopsticks which I love! If you’re ever on this side of town do yourself a favor and stop in. You won’t regret it!

It’s acceptable fast casual Thai food. I ordered ginger as my flavor but honestly, taste no ginger. Just soy sauce. It’s medium spicy as ordered. Kinda surprised the spring roll came wrapped as it did (see photos.) Guy at the counter was helpful and turned my order into a combo which saved me money.

I was so excited to see Thai Express. I ate so much of this while in Canada. It was quick, convenient, tasty and budget friendly. So imagine my excitement when I found Thai Express in Decatur. Well lets just say….the food isn’t as flavorful. Why, I’m not sure because the menu looks the same.

Stopped in on a Sunday for a bite. I chose th Tom Yum Sou with Shrimp. I ate the 6 pieces of shrimp before I took the pic. I was expecting this to be more flavorful and tossed the rest of it away. I’m not really faulting the restaurant as this was a new choice for me and maybe it was just supposed to be lacking in flavor. Next time I will stick with a curry. I was disappointed that the tables etc were not wiped down. There were no customers at the counter for a good 15 minutes and 4 people on duty. Someone did leave a spray bottle and cloth out so I cleaned my own table.

I tried this place out the afternoon of September 12th 2019. This place wasn’t very impressive to me and my 12 year old son. We ordered Spicy Basil shrimp fried rice with extra onions today and we got what we ordered but it had absolutely no flavor at all and barely any shrimp for so much rice. It wasn’t spicy either. There were small chunks of rice that hadn’t been mixed in with the sauce (see photos zoom in to see white chunks).

I was excited for the Tom Yum soup that I got on 1/26/2020 to have for lunch the next day. I warmed up my soup and added the coconut milk and was in awe at the amazing flavor, and then I found hair in my soup. I was utterly disgusted and upset. I will NEVER go back to this establishment and I will contact a health inspector to have them look at that 90 score.

My aunt and I visited this place today for an early dinner for the first time. We were a little skeptical at first as of why there were no people eating inside. It was quite empty so we decided to take a look at its menu. The specials were interesting and set at a good price; as well as the main menu. We ordered the tofu pad thai (spicy) and the shrimp basil fried rice (medium). The sizes of the plate were satisfactory. You definitely get a great amount of food for what you pay for. The food was very flavorful. As far as heat level they didn’t really match up to the description. Spicy tasted like mild in my dish and medium had no heat at all. If you’re looking for a thai inspired dish this place is the way to go.

Took a little while to prepare my noodles but the flavors were pretty good and their spice meter from 1 to 5 is honest. The only negative thing I would say is that their Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles taste like they have the same sweet and spicy sauce. The only difference was the level of spice in each one. But overall the food is great.
