We eat at the Buffet every time we visit the Golden Nugget. Most of the time, with our food credits, we have eaten here FREE. In December we enjoyed a luxurious Christmas buffet away from home. My Wife did not have slave over her cooking. So much is offered, so many varieties of dessets, food from around the world including American & soul food is on the serving lines. Today was no exception, we went thru the chow line at the Buffet again without cost. Salads start on the right ending with desserts on the left. Went with two fruit salads, soup, fish & shrimp, & fruits followed by King Cake, Bread Pudding, Lime Pie, & ice cream. Maybe overdoing it, but know my limits. Nice dining experience supported by a capable wait staff person who ushered us to a table, brought utensils & beverages, removed used dishes, and provided other necessary services. She checked for us with the kitchen why croissants were no longer being served. We found out that they do serve croissants but are on the breakfast menu. None were left over or carried forward for lunch. Personally, prefer this Buffet at the Golden Nugget to all the other Casino buffets in Lake Charles.

Planned on going to the casino buffet next door but it was closed for renovations. Decided to try it out since it was next door. Had Kim as a waitress and she was great, but that was the only thing good about our experience. The food was horrible and disgusting and $40 per person, you would think you’d get better quality. I wouldn’t feed this stuff to my dogs as it was that bad. Drove 2 hours and it was a total waste of time.

When you have to spit your food out not once but twice. The price was high enough to think the food would be good, but it was far from that. Not much of a selection and what we did eat just wasn’t good. Got a refund on one of the kids cause she just couldn’t eat any of it. Wife are the cab legs just so they wouldn’t go to waste. From my experience I would not recommend this place at all.

So we love the breakfast but my issue is that they don’t open until 8am and I hope you guys do understand that people eat much earlier than that. Also they refuse to get dairy free milk/creamer despite me asking EVERYTIME we go. Which is often. You have a lost loyal customers at this point.

If you love breakfast food this is the place to go. We didn’t eat here for lunch or dinner so I can’t speak for that. We did however come here twice over the weekend for breakfast and it was delicious. They have so many options. The mimosas are also great.
