So we were looking for a nice BBQ spot and boy were we in for a treat today. After searching google we find Jeanne’s BBQ. We check the menu and pricing and everything was amazing until we show up and pick up our order. They told us over the phone that the order would be ready in a few minutes we asked for a specific time and they responded “not long”. After a 15 minute drive we arrive and the nachos are not ready. Along with that the pricing was way off of what we expected.

Just had a splendid time at Jeanne’s. It was close to closing but Jeanne could not have been more accommodating. I was greeted with open arms and made to feel right at home. I had the brisket and ribs. So much food, I took about half and it went right in the cooler for the next nights meal by a roaring campfire.

Okay, where do I begin? Jeanne and ken are truly amazing, I just got in from a very long day driving across Texas, drove from Arizona. I checked in at the La Quinta inn just up the road. As I walked in the atmosphere was perfect, Jeanne said to kitchen was closed (it was late) I said I would stay for a beer, while sitting there having a beer after a long day I asked her where was a decent place she recommended the Mexican place down the street and Burger King. Being from Arizona I decided Burger King was gonna be the spot tonight…

Stopped by for lunch. Food was very good but very pricey. Smoked turkey lunch special for $15. The white cheddar mac n’ cheese is amazing! Servers were very friendly but not very attentive, I had to get my own refill of tea, got tired of waiting 10 minutes for someone to come.

The food and service were top notch. We got the bbq chicken and the pork steak. They were both cooked perfectly. The potato salad and the potato salad casserole were amazing. We will definitely go again!

Stopped here to eat dinner, when I was driving through town. I got a sampler plate with brisket, ribs, pulled pork, sausage, chicken, bread rolls & 2 sides. Everything was phenomenal, the chicken was perfectly cooked and fell right off the bones.

Ordered the brisket nachos which was over $16 with tax and felt completely robbed. The brisket lacked any flavor beyond ‘ok’ and mostly fat. The cheese they used was canned maybe powdered cheese, disgusting regardless. The chips were of the lowest grade. I can understand if a shortcut was taken on a few ingredients but to charge $16 for nachos with absolute garbage on a plate was disrespect to the customer. I wouldn’t have paid $10 if I knew what I was getting. First and last time I’ll be visiting.

Tried their Deluxe meat platter and pretty much all tasted the same not a lot of flavor to it they use some kind of smoke that gives it a unique taste not necessarily to my liking some of the meat was really dry and the roles were hard as rocks and as much as KPLC built this place up I was extremely disappointed .. they got busy and we had to wait a long time to get our check and our to go plates… when we got there… there was only a couple of customers and then some people started floating in and they only had the owner as our waitress so my wife had to get up and refill her drink herself… so probably won’t be going back again.

Absolutely awesome place. The trifecta. Mostly the food but the service and the restaurant were top notch. It is on my list every time I travel through this will be on the top of my list to eat at in Lake Charles.
