Gene’s Grinders is owned and operated by Andreas “Andy” Barmaxis, who brought his love and appreciation of horse racing to the deli counter.
Andy has been serving up fresh bread and deli meats for over 40 years. Andy bakes his famous french roll on-site and from scratch every morning. Each roll is accompanied by top quality meats, cheeses, and produce.

Hands down the best sandwich place where you don’t need a lot of condiments for the the sandwich to be good. I always go for the Turkey but the pastrami is my favorite. Fresh baked bread that doesn’t upset my stomach nor is it stale or hard. This place never fails me and I’ve been coming here for 6 years now. Went by today and always taste the same.

Just awesome! Fantastic, huge sandwiches piled high with freshly sliced meat. Why go to a nasty Subway when you can come here and get a sub that is 10x better in quality?! Plus, you’re supporting local business! We ordered the Monday Sliced Roast Pork special and the Polish Kielbasa. Very, very tasty! Forgot to take photos…we just ate our subs too quickly! Easy parking, and basic indoor or outdoor dining. There is even a frequent sandwich card.

I totally forgot to take pics of the sandwiches but mark my words when I say they are delicious and stuffed with goodness. We use to order from Gene’s all the time when I worked in Arcadia so it had been awhile since I had a sandwich from there but oh my they are still as delicious as they were back then. We tried the beef dip and the genes special. We sat outside and enjoyed our delicious sandwiches. The bread was so fresh and tasty. It would be delicious hot with butter. The au jus was so hot and flavorful. The French fries were hot and crispy. This place is a hidden treasure. Ten out of ten would totally recommend.

After placing my first online order at Gene’s I can say it was a great experience. I only waited a few minutes to pick up my sandwiches & fries. Fries were great, but the sandwiches were definitely the star of the show. My large turkey breast grinder with extra mayo & cheese was a hefty, tasty meal. Any my wife’s special ended up being enough for two meals. We’ll be back!
