Second time here and everytime I come is a different experience. Best Omakase I ever had. I ordered the Omakase at the Chef’s Counter which is (220$ per person) it is worth it. Apart from the Omakase I ordered a few more a la carte items because it was too good to leave without having some more… To drink I had a bottle of Sake ( Hakkaisan/Yukimuro Junmai Ginjo Snow Aged) 160$ after this was done, I got another type of sake (Heiwa/KID Junmai Daiginjo) Medium sized which was 65$.

7.5/10 I enjoyed the food. I prefer other places more. I find their pricing high. It is very fresh sushi but I left somewhat hungry spending $300 without beverages.

It was good. However, we came a little later in the evening around 8, and were there for over 2.5 hours. I feel the prices are a little high.

Everything about our experience at Sushi Nonaka was a delight. The food was so fresh and delicious and every dish was seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend the Japanese cucumber salad. The atmosphere could not be cuter. It is set in a secret little courtyard on the upper west side strung with market lights. Perfect for a summer evening. The hospitality is top notch. Everyone was so attentive and helpful. This is a perfect little date night spot.

Having been there once before and had a great experience, we decided to given their delivery service a try last night. And it was really worthwhile. The packaging and presentation were beautiful and done with care. The quality and craftsmanship of the nigiris were great, not an easy feat considering that the food had to travel a ways. High quality + reasonable pricing for sushi in NYC = great value.

We had a wonderful experience eating at the sushi bar at Sushi Nonaka. The severs and sushi chefs were incredibly nice and helpful. We had the chefs special omakase menu, all of the sashimi and sushi was fresh and delicious. I would absolutely come back the next time we are in town, and recommend it to anyone who loves sushi.

Given all of the great reviews, we were quite disappointed. Maybe the kitchen just had an off night, but the sushi wrappers on the rolls were soft and squishy (even the hand rolls). The Omakase portions were tiny and the fish was not so interesting or distinctive. Service was great. Sake recommendation was good / fun. We spent about $250 a head and wouldn’t do it again.

Not one to write reviews but such a wonderful Omakase – hidden gem. Super friendly service and what a special meal. Sat at the sushi bar alone and had one of the best meals I’ve had in NYC (and I adore eating out). Naturally, excellent quality fish.

Superb, celebration- worthy chef’s omakase. Delicious lux items like King Crab and Japanese uni. Calm, welcoming atmosphere.
