Enjoyed my meals from Tasty Jamaica a lot. Had the jerk chicken, fried plantains, mac-and-cheese, and rice and beans. Had no idea this place was around until this year. Bernard, the chef and owner, was efficient and handled his customers and their orders well. It’s very easy to miss, but the presence of parked cars waiting on their turn will make it easier for you to find it. I plan on returning.

Ok….let’s start with the fact that the restaurant had a sign on the door that it opens at 3:30pm on Saturday….I pulled up about 4:45pm and it wasn’t open yet!!! They finally opened around 5pm….okay….but my review will have nothing to do with the “Jamaican Time” that they are on!!! Let’s get to the food….I read several reviews that rave about the food…especially the oxtails, cabbage and mac&cheese…..ahhhh hell naw!!!!! They all are just average….not impressed at all. I spent $67 for oxtails, curry goat and a beef patty!!! My hopes and expectations were destroyed by the mediocre taste of the food. The curry goat was probably the best out of everything!! Oxtails (which was most expensive) was by far no where close to the best that I have ever had….they tasted more like American cooked oxtails then the Jamaican flare!!! Anyway…I give this place a 3 out of 5 rating overall. If you are ever in the Atlanta metro area….drop by Scotch Bonnett or Jamaican Biz if you really want some good Jamaican food! Anyway….I won’t be going back to Tasty Jamaican….because it’s just not tasty!!!

When I start smiling while I’m eating, whatever it is is delightful. Passed by this place so many times thinking it was a club and somebody should’ve clubbed me upside my head for passing by this place so many times before. I WILL be back. The owner is very engaging and friendly and the portions are more than enough even for the medium jerk chicken, rice and peas, and mac & cheese I ordered. I will be back soon with friends to share my bliss with.

No complaints on food, but would love to see them invest in a pager system since people tend to wait in their cars here and the wait times aren’t always accurate. A pager system would really be a customer satisfier that is not expensive at all. I drive a distance and they don’t always do orders by phone so I end up waiting so long once I arrive.
