One of the most influential American restaurants of the last decade, Major Food Group’s CARBONE serves Michelin-starred Italian cuisine in an energetic, highly glamorous setting. The New York Times probably put it best: “It is a fancy red-sauce joint as directed by Quentin Tarantino, with a technical prowess that can make you giddy and an instinct for sheer entertainment that makes a lot of other restaurants seem like earnest, unimaginative drones.”
In addition to Dallas, Carbone currently has locations in New York City, Miami Beach, Las Vegas, and Hong Kong. Major Food Group Co-Founders Jeff Zalaznick, Mario Carbone, and Rich Torrisi are also behind Sadelle’s, The Grill, ZZ’s Club, Parm, and Dirty French, to name just a few.
Based on 357 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 3.9 stars. Price

Having been here multiple times in Dallas as well as LV and NY, will tell you that you can never ever go wrong with their main dish Spicy Vodka Rigatoni and my personal favorite Veal Parmesan! Do be sure to order as much as you can the first time as it may be hard to request more after. 4-5 dishes is recommended for 3 grown Texan men outside their lovely Parmesan/bread samples.

This is a location to enjoy the experience, and they truly delivered. The food was delicious; the must-try is exceptionally the macaroni spicy rigatoni vodka, octopus pizzaiolo, Cesar a la ZZ, and carrot cake. Our waiter was just fantastic; praises to Luis and Amber. The dinner setting feels excellent. I suggest reserving a table outside around 7 pm, as the sun sets and night ambiance makes the experience finer for you. The drinks are delicious as well. Overall a great dining experience.

Fine dining, good food but the atmosphere was lacking. Beautiful to look at but the terrace was hot! The fans in the corner did nothing to help. Felt bad for the poor waiters in suits… would recommend you book far in advance and sit inside if you’re going in the summer…

Gorgeous restaurant. NYC location is nearly impossible to get reservations at but thankfully this location is slightly under the radar. Worth the hype to come & have dinner. Screams Frank Sinatra vibes inside the dining area, very classy, old Italian vibes. Service is tremendously professional. You have to order everything all at once, which we don’t typically like to do at restaurants but I will say, the courses were perfectly timed apart. They give complimentary salami, pickled cauliflower and bread (tomato, garlic and sesame bread) all of which was very tasty and filling! Of course, we got the spicy rigatoni. It was so creamy and perfectly Al dente. Slightly salty but still very good- highly recommend. My husband & I shared the Ribeye Diana with potatoes Louis. It came with a beautiful brown sauce with fried shallots on top. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We were too full for dessert but they were so kind to give us the iconic Italian rainbow cookies- delish! My husband never had it before and he loved it.

This place does live up to all the hype. Had a great experience from getting seated immediately at our reservation time to the while 2+hrs dining experience. Our table was on the terrace and it was such a neat vibe…and it’s huge! Although I’m not sure what the experience is like when the weather is way hot or way cold as we dined on an evening when it was 60s/70s so it was perfect. We shared numerous courses which is the way to go. Meatballs, spicy rigatoni, veal parmesan and the chocolate hazelnut cake for dessert. It was all fabulous and the food served was spaced out just right. I was hesitant about the spicy rigatoni because I don’t like spicy, but don’t let the name fool you. It’s not spicy at all and has great taste even for picky eaters.

I’d like to compare Carbone to the likes of Saison in SF or Nick and Sam’s in Dallas given the prestige this place has. However, the food and experience here was just good and unfortunately not great. I also did not like being charged $9 a glass for water.

My first experience at Carbone was great. We got to sit in a cute romantic booth on the patio. The service was excellent. One of the managers helped us to pick out a great white wine to pair with our dinner, which we really enjoyed. Our waitress was super attentive and made sure we were well taken care of.

MUST GO- we had a work dinner at Carbone last night and we all left agreeing it was a great meal. From the ambiance of the music and candle light, to the old school preparations of classic dishes we were wow’d. They start you with a large bread bowl with cheese and salami. Order the table side Caesar’s salad, the spicy rigatoni vodka, the meatballs, and the tortellini al ragu. We ended the meal with the carrot cake.

Came to dinner here because a relative of mine said it was worth a try. I thought this restaurant would be high end quality from top to bottom. However, this restaurant is one of those restaurants were people talk about the hype, but the food doesn’t live up to that hype at all. My waiter did a great job of explaining everything and were nice and friendly. The menu is unnecessarily huge and it was giving 3rd grade science project bifold poster board. The menu had like 15-25 items on it. I had the Fettuccine Funghi and they don’t let you add meat to the dish. It didn’t fill me up at all. The portion was very small. I tried the carrot cake and it tasted very sweet. The decor is super nice, but I don’t understand why there’s fans everywhere and no AC? Seems odd for an elegant dining restaurant to only have fans, but no AC, so I felt hot the whole time. There were only two things I like from the restaurant: the wine and the bread. Other than that, I don’t recommend coming here.

I went to Carbone for my birthday dinner with a group of 7 and had a very negative experience with the service from the beginning. To start, our reservation was at 8pm and we weren’t seated until 8:30. It’s fine, I understand that happens, but the bar at Carbone Vino was very slow to get drinks and completely forgot to make one of my friend’s drinks.
