This place is truly a hidden gem! We (party of two adults) visited early on a Friday evening, and got there just before the crowds so we were seated right away, but there was a pretty good line/wait by the time we left. The service was top notch, the ambiance really felt like a Mexican neighborhood cafe, and the food is amazing! Before we ordered they brought out the most amazing homemade chips and salsa. We ordered a smothered burrito as well as tacos. The tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had—the meat was so tender and flavorful! The only negative I have is to skip dessert. We ordered the tres leches cake and while the portion was large it was dry and didn’t taste good at all—actually the worst tres leches I’ve ever had. So, when you come, skip dessert.

Being from So Cal, good, authentic and delicious Mexican food has been tough to find in Utah. I’ve had this place saved as “want to go” for quite some time but just never made it out, until tonight! My wife and I went for dinner and got a Pastor quesadilla to share, then I ordered the Pastor cheesy tacos and Birria Tacos. The pastor tacos were absolutely incredible. The Birria tacos were the best I’ve ever had. The consommé was amazing, the pineapple in the Pastor tacos and the crispy cheese on the ends made them perfect.

Del Barrios Cafe is your typical Hole in the Wall restaurant. Nothing fancy from the outside, however the atmosphere inside will blow you away. Waitress are very nice and prompt. Foods taste authentic and so delicious. It’s a great find.

Hands down one of my top favorite restaurants. The Birria Tacos are fantastic and a must-have when coming here. All of the other dishes I’ve tried here have been amazing as well. Aside from the absolutely delicious food, the servers are also very kind and sweet. I’ve never had a bad experience here.

Best tacos in Utah! I eat tacos probably 6 days a week (literally) and I would eat here everyday if it was closer to my house. I am a huge carnivore and I actually LOVE all of their veggie tacos. They have three unique veggie tacos options, which is unheard of. (Pictured are the zucchini tacos). You would definitely miss this place if you were just driving by, and the inside is much nicer than I expected at first. I’ve been here multiple times and the food is always consistent. The service is always fabulous. They do get really busy at lunch though so I try and beat the rush. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Del Barrio Cafe is a hidden gem in the Salt Lake Valley. The sit down taqueria is owned and operated by members of the Nicasio family. The founder used influences from all over Mexico to create tacos for their menu. We especially loved the rajas cheese dip, the birria tacos, Al pastor tacos , and the chicken tinga tacos. Those were our faves, but everything we had was really good. The premises are clean and the service is super friendly and helpful. Can’t wait for our next chance to come back and try more tacos here.
