Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 – Three Treasure Beef Noodle Soup with tea noodle, Tempura, and Sliced Pork with Garlic Sauce. The proteins in the noodle soup were marinated well and flavorful. They do have a side dish with just the beef and no noodles. The soup is very heavily spiced without too heavy of a tomato broth. The tempura was fried well but seemed like something grocery store purchased rather than made in-house. The sliced pork was disappointing to be honest. Typically, this dish is made with slices of pork belly with a heavy garlic taste. This one was made of thinly sliced ribeye or chuck meat (think Yoshinoya or gyudon) and just tasted mainly of soy sauce. When we looked back at the menu, they did Have an accurate picture though.

It’s music to their ears for the Taiwanese food lovers. Hanlin has opened its door in Arcadia. For us that live in the SGV, we don’t have to drive down to Rowlandheight to get a taste of their food anymore.

We came here for lunch and as soon as we entered, We were greeted. The place looks clean and not crowded as it was a weekday. They have an indoor shared parking structure so parking wasn’t a concern. When we were ordering, the server warned us that the drinks are 50% less sweet than usual but I did say I still wanted it less sweet and my drink came out great. (Ordered Black Milk Tea with boba). My friend, however, kept complaining that her drink was too bitter. They did try to make it sweeter twice. Then we knew why it was bitter. It was because they gave her the wrong drink. She ordered Peach Tea but instead, she got Plum Oolong tea. They eventually replaced it for her without hesitation. That could have been prevented though if they repeated our order after taking it. Now, as to why I give this place 3 stars. It’s because of the food, too. I ordered Braised Beef Stew with rice, it tasted bland. There was no flavor. There was more fat than meat and it was mostly potatoes and fats and one thin slice of beef. It was very disappointing to say the least. I’d say I might be back for the drinks but definitely not the food. Overall, I don’t recommend this place when you are hungry.
