The service was quick and the staff were very kind. The food was amazing — it was consistent with typical Shanghai-style food, which is characteristically on the sweeter side and full of flavor. The braised pork belly and the Shanghai thick noodles were fantastic. We also loved the cucumber appetizer. I will definitely come back here!

Little Alley’s service is excellent. The staff is really friendly and responsive, the food could be better though.

Ordered Little Alley for take out and it was the perfect meal to go. The food itself was great and had a lot of authentic Shanghainese dishes on the menu. Didn’t get to try all of them but loved their 糟溜鱼片 and the kaofu! The staff were incredible kind and packed up the to-go order very well. The only downside is that it is a on the expensive side. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and will be taking my Shanghainese family here to try some other dishes, especially bc the atmosphere looked great at the restaurant too!

I got a ubereat delivery with two stir fried noodle and a preserved egg for $66 after tax. They charged $15 for 2 whole egg, and $23 for the noodle. I’m probably paying $15 for that stack of napkins

So many deep fried dishes and very sugary sauces with everything, which is not Shanghainese but made for Americanized palette. Shanghainese cuisine is supposed to be delicately prepared letting nuianced flavors of the fresh ingredients shine. Decor a bit kitschy.

Really delicious food. We had the jellyfish, the eggplant, the dong po pork with buns, and the fish blossom. The jellyfish has a very strange texture and came with a tasty sauce. A good experience, but jellyfish just is not particularly delicious. The rest of the dishes were wonderful. Plated beautifully and prepared perfectly, they were tasty and well cooked with all the right flavors and textures. Go with a group so you can order and try many things!

My go-to place for reasonably priced and delicious chinese food in Midtown area. My favorite is the salted duck egg fish fillet. Other good dishes are egg tofu with seafood, crispy eel, and yan du xian. The crispy duck and west lake stew are a little disappointed.
