I recently visited New Haven & tried out this Mexican restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted warmly by the friendly staffs. The restaurant itself had a vibrant and colorful décor, reflecting the rich culture and heritage of Mexico. The seating was comfortable, and the tables were adorned with traditional Mexican accents.

Ixtapa was an amazing experience, the staff were quickly responsive and helpful, and the food was delicious (especially the homemade tortilla chips)! I had the Pollo Mole, which was good, but I found myself wishing I’d gotten what other people ordered because everything looked good! The drinks were good, not very strong, but good! I am excited to go back and try some other stuff on the menu!

Wonderful restaurant. The owner was so incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food was great. Don’t miss the bar – it’s kind of hidden in the back. On on hot steamy day I was served the most refreshing Modelo in a chilled glass. It’s an outstanding local business and I’ll be back.

We arrived around noon so the place was nice and quiet. The place was clean, but it is somewhat small. It would be a bit of an issue if the place was full, though it looked like there may be outside seating, but not sure. The server was very nice, although they don’t speak English well. They offer free chips and salsa. The chips were excellent, the salsa could use some seasoning but it was still good. We got the ixtapa burrito with chicken and ground beef and taco consome dishes. The food was fresh and delicious, everything was fantastic. Huge proportions, you can certainly buy a dish and it would be enough for two. This is a good place for a date, family or girls night out. Would not recommend strollers in this place.

This was my first time going and the food was very good. The wait wasn’t too bad since it was the day before Cinco de Mayo. We parked in the back and walked to the front of the restaurant. I was a little bit disappointed that we had to switch waiters in between our meal and no one didn’t tell us. I will definitely try it again.
