Loved our dinner at Philippe the Original. Walking through the front door definitely feels like stepping back in time. Nothing fancy but super friendly and amazing food. Ordering at the counter was quick and easy. The menu is filled with many options and unique sides and add-ons. We tried the beef dip which was excellent and my kids actually loved the dill pickles and rolls with butter. They have extra seating upstairs but be aware that it can be a little hot and stuffy up there. Overall, so glad we tried this classic establishment.

I have come here a few times now. Gets only better each time. Double dip pastrami is delicious. The meat is juicy, fresh and melts in your mouth. The pickles and pickled eggs are worth adding! You won’t be disappointed if you’re a fan of pumpkin pie- it’s the best I have had in LA.-The coffee is really good too!

It has been years since I was last here, long long before I was doing reviews.

I have always enjoyed their beer dips here. Seems to be less beef in it these days. Most of the food is pretty basic for a deli type place. We also had a vegetable barley soup and some chilli. The flavors are consistent with what you would expect. Oh and the tapioca pudding is the best I have ever tried❤️

Brought my college student to this iconic deli for lunch today after some shopping in the flower mart district. I forgot how DELICIOUS it was. We split a sandwich, but hours later, I’m still a little sad about that choice!! Chocolate cake was yummy too!

I’ll tell you what! I ordered the double dipped beef French dip sandwich, chips, pickle, and a can of coke and carrot cake. First, there was about a 15 minute wait at 1pm when I went. But well worth it!

It was our first time here, and we really enjoyed it. We had to try the original beef dip, and we were both happy with the sandwich. We also shared a cup of chili and a piece of custard pie. We were very happy w/everything we tried. the dining area was larger than I thought it would be. There was also more room upstairs. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Had heard about this place from back in the day and while on vacation in LA finally decided to try it, It pretty much lives up to its name, They’re double dipped French dip sandwiches and they’re pretty damn good! Actually I’d say one of the better French dips I’ve ever had, It’s worth coming here to try it out. Also like the steak fries And the general atmosphere is pretty nice. Also it wasn’t overly priced. They have parking in the back it can get kind of tight so arrive early.
