Bar was supposed to open at 3 but all the bartenders were still setting up when we got there a little past 3. We were also told that the kitchen wouldn’t be open for an hour so we wouldn’t be able to order any food. Staff was visibly stressed. Not sure what the deal was. We had very high expectations given the fact that this is at the top of a high end hotel but it was really just a cluster f.

Rooftop bar with a great view, good service, nice seating options, & good drinks. Whether you want to relax by yourself or with a date to watch the sunset, this is a great spot. The live music was a great added benefit.

Went during the week for some drinks for my birthday and wow what a treat! First time being here, bites were tasty and the bartender Jordan was friendly and attentive. Cocktails were awesome. Went on a cloudy day, but views were still lovely. We will be back!

Beautiful setting. Slow service, I’m sure due to a staffing shortage, but wow! Super slow. Another bartender came on and waitstaff, but I feel they never caught up. Bartender was busy and it showed on his face. Staff was stressed.

Dan and Dan are so fantastic. These bartenders are exceptional. We went on a Monday Tuesday in the off season. Both of these bartenders showed us an amazing and entertaining experience. They invented and discussed unique craft cocktails. They went above and beyond and I recommend it to anyone visiting Newport, whether or not you’re staying at Viking.

There were 4 of us, and we each ordered two drinks. We had to wait 35 minutes for a BOTTLED beer after being ordered and easily 20-25 for the waitress to even notice our first round was empty. Then, they “ran out of glasses” and tried to charge full price for a drink in a glass half the size. We waited another half an hour to get our check back. It wasn’t even that busy. We spoke to the woman whom I assume was the manager, only to be met with incredible hostility and disrespect as if waiting 35 minutes for a drink in a restaurant that isn’t busy is normal. If I could give it zero stars I would.
