What a cool piece of history! Stopping at some of the oldest bars in America as I visit all 50 states and this one didn’t disappoint. Todd cooks a great burger and is a dedicated owner to this piece of history. Would highly recommend putting this on your list of stops in Nebraska!

I usually order their cheeseburgers because I LOVE them! Today I tried the chicken salad sandwich and it was perfect! It will be a difficult decision next time. My husband always gets chicken cordon Bleu and says it’s the best, so maybe I will try that. The soups are always good too.

Great stop for food and drink that has a really cool history. Being the oldest bar/grill in Nebraska there’s definitely a lot of stories and character that really makes it a nice spot. Food was great and came out quick. Lots of local and domestic beers on tap. Can’t go wrong with Glurs!

Unexpected find!! This place is awesome! The burger was very good and the beer was definitely cold! The bartender was a good conversation and the memorabilia outstanding!

Hey there! If you ever happen to be in Columbus, Nebraska, you’ve got to treat yourself to a visit at Glur’s Tavern. Trust me, the food there is absolutely terrific, and on top of that, the place has such a fascinating history! I recently dropped by and had the most delightful chat with the owner. So glad I made the stop – it was totally worth it!

Excellent food menu, excellent beer selection. Had to stop at the state’s oldest tavern. They were short-handed with employees so when the bartender needed to run an errand in town, he closed up the bar. I am glad we returned an hour later. They also sell t-shirts!

I absolutely loved this place. It’s a very very local bar with a large pub menu. The food is ok and gets better the more you drink. The staff is friendly and it’s definitely a place to check out. It’s like the first bar in Nebraska or something like that.

This is the oldest restaurant in Nebraska, and was built in 1876 by Swiss brothers, Joseph and William Bucher. In 1883, William Bucher served up people who came to see Buffalo Bill Cody’s shows if the Old West with Annie Oakley. A new bartender named Louis Glur bought the place and renamed it. It is so famous that it and much more history about it is included in my book “Oldest Restaurants in the USA and Europe”. Dr. Diane Holloway Cheney
