Skip this place. Fried Oysters are a joke. Extremely fishy tasting, completely soggy undercooked oysters with breading that falls off and full of sand. The macaroni and cheese was cold and over cooked, nothing but mush. The red beans and rice were so salty you might as well lick a salt block…probably be less salty. Lastly, the salt and pepper shakers are not cleaned…nothing but dried scum and grease on the outside.

Wow. Took the whole family and ordered the shrimp poboy, buffalo wings, and the kids got chicken tenders with mac and cheese and cole slaw. Best meal we’ve had in a long time. The shrimp was out of this world, and the wings were so crispy and juicy. $14 for 10 wings and fries, how can you beat that? Service 20/10 seriously. Amazing experience.

Came upon this fabulous gem of an eatery today and enjoyed the best lunch I’ve had in a long time. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious! Very reasonably priced as well! The menu selection has something for everyone. The staff was so wonderful and friendly. From someone who eats out at least once a day, trust me when I say you have to give this little place a try.

Plenty of food and satisfied overall but practically everything is fried with a few exceptions. I liked the fried shrimp the most but the catfish has a lot to be desired. Red beans and rice were pleasing as a side. This place is worth trying for yourself as personal tastes differ. I will probably not return here. It’s a cholesterol thing for me and the taste in general was meh.

Took my mother to Sam’s Southern for Mother’s day. Never ate there before today. The catfish was excellent, came out piping hot. Sides were great. The hostess, Moonya???, very kind and pleasant. The people that wrote reviews complaining about mostly fried foods being available… why did they even go there if that is not what they want? Apparently, they do not know what real “southern food” or Louisiana food is. Me and my family will be going again .

We originally went in because my mom was wanting fried chicken. They dont offer breast, thigh options and so she changed her mind and we were gonna leave. the guy convinced us to stay and said itll be the best food we had. Boy was he right! this place was amazing!! The food was HOT when it came out. They also gave us 4 sause options which were fantastic. The gumbo and red rice and beans were the best ive tasted and i thought i hated gumbo until this point. The mac and cheese were good and the 1 fish 5 shrimp was fantastic! im a big eater and still had to get a to go box. They were so so kind and sweet and i definitely 10/10 recommend!

Ordered a grilled chicken salad which basically was just pickles and cucumbers. A few pieces of chicken and a little lettuce. Just awful for $14.

If I could give this establishment a zero I would. The store itself looks like a 4 year old painted and patched walls, your feet will stick to the floor when you are walking, no toilet paper or soap in the bathrooms, no gloves observed when employees contact food. Food smelled fine, but tasted disgusting. Both my husband and I took only a few bites each before leaving our meals behind. Within 10 minutes of leaving, we were both struck with severe food poisoning which required medical attention. After calling the location to ask for my money back I was told the man who answered was jusvan employees but then he owned the store himself, said, I’m sorry, once we give you food no refunds.

The first time we went the catfish was wonderful. The 2nd time we went to your new restaurant and it was not so good. The 3rd time, today, we went to the old restaurant and I ordered 3 catfish. It tasted funny and you might want to check your catfish because I’ve been sick and vomiting since we left. I’m sad because it’s one of the few places you can get whole catfish.
