Good food, but fairly standard. Reasonably priced (for DC). Mediocre service. Ambiance is average with reasonable decor but poor sound insulation. Overall I would skip this place if traveling, but if you live or work in the area, it might be a decent place to grab a bite once in a while.

We loved our dishes and drinks – ordered the pineapple fried rice, pad Thai with shrimp, and grilled pork neck as an appetizer, and finished off with a banana dessert. Pad Thai using thinner noodles which were wonderfully chewy and to our liking. The iced tea was refreshing and not too sweet, with a great balance between tea flavor and sweetness. The seating was comfortable. Dim atmosphere added relaxing vibe to the place. We were happy to have discovered this gem!

Enticed by the glowing reviews, my wife and I were compelled to experience this establishment. Our order comprised tofu pad thai, moo yang Kati sod, Thai iced tea, and som tum sling. The tofu pad thai struck a delightful balance between sweetness and savory flavors. The moo yang kati sod, a presentation of pork belly on skewers, was masterfully cooked, avoiding the overcooking that’s often encountered elsewhere. Its accompanying dipping sauce added a lovely touch. The som tum sling reminded me of a spicy lemonade. The staff’s attentive service included drink refills and wonderful suggestions. The ambiance and decor were appealing. In hindsight, I regret not ordering more dishes and I’m hopeful for another visit before departing.

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant during our stay in DC. We made reservations online and we were seated on time. I ordered the pad khing and my husband had Khao soi. We both enjoyed our dishes. Probably the best flavor of Khao soi we’ve had since we visited Thailand. It is pretty spicy but super flavorful. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. A good choice for a Thai craving

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Soi 38. The restaurant is busy with an Eclectic clientele and has a good vibe. The menu is populated with interesting options as well as a few of the traditional Thai dishes. Service was efficient and timely. The food was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Definitely recommend the baked shrimp. Will be back and also will try it’s sister restaurant which provides a traditional Thai menu.

Food and drinks were good but not great. The restaurant is visually stunning. It was only 1/2 full on a Friday night. We didn’t seem to have a particular waitress and had to ask when we were ready to order. One of us ordered a cocktail and it arrived premixed in a bottle. The Pad see ew was good but needed some acid. The Panag curry was fantastic as were the soft spring rolls. .

There aren’t many Thai restaurants in DC and I think that’s why this place gets glowing reviews on its food. As a seasoned eater of Thai cuisine, the food here is completely average. If you’re an overseas visitor expecting to be blown away with the food, then you might be disappointed. That said, it’s a nice alternative to steak, pizza, burgers or fries.

Absolutely loved my visit to Soi 38! The ambience was delightful, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. The service was excellent, and the staff was attentive and friendly. As for the food, it was simply delicious! The rice dishes, shrimp, and noodles were bursting with flavors, and the portions were just right. Plus, they ensured that the food arrived on time. A definite go-to spot for tasty Thai cuisine with a fantastic overall experience! Highly recommended!

We tried a lot of dishes and some we like, some we didn’t. But over all great experience. I would recommend Lemongrass Yuzu Fizz and lemongrass yuzu fizz for drinks.

First time and and I let the kind gentleman working the bar help me order and each of his recommendations were perfect! First time have a dried curry and it was delicious! I will say it’s not as spicy as I expected for the 3 pepper dish.
