Whether you’re looking for a bite to eat on the way to the beach or a place to relax and have a few cold ones after a long day of fishing, this is the place for you! Snappers Bar & Grill is located on FM 2031, about a mile south of the Matagorda bridge and just a few miles north of the beach.
We offer a full bar along with plenty of beer and wine. Beer, wine, and mixed drinks TO-GO are also available, so make sure to stock up on your way to the beach! There’s a playscape for the kiddos and friendly pets are always welcome on a leash.

Stopped for an early supper while spending a day at the beach. Had the snapper meal with fries and cucumber salad. The fish had a good taste and the cucumber salad was refreshing. The site is a large tent with picnic tables and a small bar with a TV. The open air tent allows the breeze to blow through the tent. There is a food truck where the meals are prepared. Friendly staff and customers.

First time here since the new owners bought the place. Nice big tent for shade and they built a cool Cantina Bar which really adds atmosphere. The food was as great as ever, we had the fried shrimp and grilled shrimp and both were cooked perfectly, not over cooked.

Great people and food! But today was our third time this weekend to order food it has been great until today! Do not order the crab cakes. They are bad! I was so sick after I ate only one small piece and they smell really old. And my friend just got sick 5 hours later. Food was amazing until this happened. Crab cake should not be served! I told the the waitress she said she’d let them know, but clearly other people have gotten sick from this they should’ve taken it off my ticket but they didn’t $20 to make me throw up that sucks

Not too shabby! Actually very, very good. Blackened snapper was well seasoned, and pineapple sauce that came with the coconut shrimp was very good. Overall a great meal. Seating is outdoors, so we went to the beach and ate here to dry off. Great decision!

I am not sure where to even start. I was disappointed with the quality of food (other than the onion rings). I had the grilled crab cakes. I took one bite of the crab cake and something did not taste right. I took a second bite and told my husband to see if it tasted bad to him. The taste was not “fresh” and they were super skinny and mushy. It almost tasted as if the grill had not been used or cleaned thoroughly and it left this “old taste”. I came back to the place we were staying and got so sick. I was sick all night and it ruined the rest of our evening. We will never recommend this place or go back. Its sad because this could be a really great establishment.

Stopped at this food truck on a whim and absolutely glad we did. They were amazing. They cooked my fresh caught red snapper and it was excellent. Blackened red snapper, fried oysters, shrimp and fries. It was our last meal there in Matagorda and man was it a great one. I will be a repeat customer every time I’m down that way!

Waitrees was super cool and nice good recommendations. It’s outside it’s the blazing heat but felt cool. A lot of fans patio seating seats everyone. Seafood special with mahi was outstanding. Will definitely return!

The food here is excellent. We were in matagorda for 4 days and came here 3 times. Kids loved it. Wife loved it. We had blackened mahi, burgers, coconut shrimp, fish nuggets, cole slaw, green beans, fried pickles. All were fantastic.

We would give it another shot if in the area, but nothing to write home about. Drinks were subpar. Ordered the snapper but do not think that’s what it was at all. Hardly white meat…nore gray. Never seen a snapper fillet like that. They did credit $12 upcharge back or the basket would have been $40 & not worth it. My coconut shrimp were great & all the sauces were good. Had queso with my fries as my side & the queso was clumpy but it was the end of the day. Probably would be great when fresh. Fun place to chill though! Food just doesn’t match the price & we don’t mind paying top dollar for good seafood. Wish I had pics but we were enjoying family time.

We’ve been fishing in Matagorda for years not just stumbled upon this place while staying across the street at FishTales. We wanted some sides to go with the fish we caught and it didn’t disappoint .The food is amazing! So fresh and the ladies are always so nice. I love the “nothing fancy but fun motto”! Anyone who wrote a bed review just had a bad day, this place is amazing!! We stop by every time we come in town.
