We were shown some true southern hospitality. We were just driving through and the folks behind the counter looked into the weather along our route. And the food was great too! (Nicely seasoned.)

Fast food cajun. Very good flavor. Inexpensive. A lot of food. The meal deal (pictured) was $11. More than enough for 2 people. Plenty of meat in everything. All is seasoned well. Only complaint was the gumbo was ok, and wasn’t hot; just warm. Overall very good food & plenty good portion. If you get this meal you won’t leave hungry.

I stop in for a quick to go lunch from time to time and their Jambalaya is always great. The Pot & Paddle is so much better than going to one of those fast food places. Service is friendly and good

By far my favorite jambalaya spot in the city. Definitely beats the competitors with a bat and a stick

The restaurant looks very nice and clean in the inside and it smelled good when I walked in which is a great thing. BUT the GUMBO WAS WATERY!!!! I can tell that rue was not made right especially I can tell they don’t use the holy trinity in their rue such as chopped onions, bell peppers, and celery. That rue was SOUP and just taste salty! It was a very Lazy Gumbo. Never should the Hospital Gumbo have more flavor than a restaurant. The Jambalaya was good but that too was a bit salty. The potato salad was bland and so was the red beans. I am sorry to say but this is why Cajun and creole restaurants are dying in Louisiana because people are not putting enough effort into the cooking no more. All this food takes time and love for the culture but if you just in it for the money one can easily mess up a good thing. Fast food is winning in Louisiana because soo many people today don’t have the heart to cook good Louisiana food no more and that’s just a shame.

Food was absolutely amazing and the people were the same. The place didn’t open until 10:30 but we were let in early and served instantly with what I will call the best jambalaya and taster of gumbo I have ever had. I can’t wait to go back in the future and I’m truly anticipating the jambalaya festival in Gonzales next year 2022.

Traveling from Colorado to Florida and wanted to stop and have some authentic Cajun food. So glad we stopped here. The food is absolutely delicious! We ate there and ordered a bucket to take with us. The customer service here is the best! Billy the owner made sure we knew what we were ordering and let us know what food would travel the best for us. He made our visit really enjoyable and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Delicious and fast. No dairy in the jambalaya, gumbo, or red beans. Fantastic. Wish there was one in NC!
