Grandfather and I would always swing by to get the cooked salami grinder and a nice cold coke. He grew up in this town and ajs was always our go to place before we headed back home to st.louis. sadly he passed away last month but this is my most cherished memory with him.

We had pizza tonight it fell short of our expectations. Frozen pizza would have been better. Flavor was missed all around. AJ’s is under new ownership. Tonight was a disappointment. We will go back (for something different) hoping that other options live up to the previous standards set by the previous owners. Update we made another visit to the new AJ’s I wish my second review was better. Unfortunately that won’t be the case. We both had what were staples for us in the past. None came close to our expectations. Our orders were French onion soup (the croutons have been changed not for the better and were left in the bowl), a grilled chicken wrap (also less than we have come to expect seasonings were seriously lacking), and a chicken parm dinner (the chicken was hot and good, the sauce was neither hot nor good, the same for the pasta. The soda dispenser also wasn’t working). These are troubling signs for what was one of our places to eat out.

Very good pizza restaurant with cozy little area for indoor seating and outdoor seating when it’s warmer. Haven’t had pizza from here, but the grinders are fantastic. Highly recommend!

If i could give no stars i would just for the customer service alone. I ordered a large bacon & onion pizza and the girl working the phone repeated back my order with her accent it sounded like she said meatball so I repeated my order a large pizza bacon & onion, she says 20 minutes, we get there, my husband goes inside to pick it up and checks the pizza while at the counter. He said it has meatball on it and the girl said yes thats what the woman ordered, he sais no i was sitting right next to my wife and she said ….repeats what I ordered, she says oh well do you want it or make a new one. Trying not to be difficult he says no I will take this one but realizes that he is being charged for the meatball we did not order and askes why hes being charged for the extra topping i didnt order, the owner comes around the corner all rude and says well i put it on the pizza! Yes you did by your employees mistake. Trying not to be difficult he pays for the pizza we dont want and we decide we arent going to be mad and just eat the pizza. Well let me tell you how dicusting the meatball we didnt want tasted. After one bite i walked the pizza back inside for my money back. We will never go back to this place, hopefully they are better in the future for the customers.

We were on our way to RI and needed to grab some lunch. We were so happy we picked AJ’s. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. I asked the waitress what she recommended and she said their grilled chicken was marinated and made in house. I got a grilled chicken wrap and it was delicious! My husband and son had some plain cheese pizza which was also VERY good. We will definitely make it a point to stop again on our next trip.
