Great smoked meat. Flavorful juicy brisket with delicious sauces that are store made, his smoked chicken wings are supreme smoky flavors. My fingers were not sticky after eating here.

I lived in North Carolina pulled pork country for years and the pulled pork at rustic rooster was better than anything I’ve ever had. They know how to smoke meat here. Not overly smokey bitter or dry. The Reuben was as good as the pork. Got some of the best beef jerky to go and less expensive than lesser quality you get at the truck stop. Highly recommended!

Our food was excellent. The brisket had great flavor. The potato salad was great. I did think the beans could have been a little sweeter, but they were still good. Don’t let the size fool you, this place is worth a stop.

I was really rooting for this place because Eldon has so few restaurant options and I was hoping for a new local place to call a favorite. This was, sadly, not that place. When I arrived I had to wait for a good while for the proprietor to finish a phone call. I wasn’t even acknowledged or offered an apology for my wait of nearly 10 minutes. (Yes. For real.) When he finally finished the call he finally looked at me and said he had to help someone else do something in the back of the restaurant and that was another several minutes. I finally ordered and watched him get buns out of the package with no gloves on. Then he remembered and put some on. He made our sandwiches with brisket warming in a stream table and sprinkled a good deal oh dry seasoning on them, and spooned our sides into the to-go container. I paid then took the food home.
