Wonderful and fun staff working hard with lots of flavorful options. It’s a drive up place where you wait outside but I loved their interactions with us and other customers. I’ve never had corn nuggets before here and loved them. Everything is cooked to order and BBQ so succulent with flavored sauces. Lots of historical moments in this area which meant a lot to me. Those Mahalia pies were good too!!!

Does anyone in TN know what rib tips are? **Long review warning** I went here because of the great reviews but once again I was not pleased. The flavor of the meat was good. So was the sauce but what I got were NOT rib tips. Very awkward setup. There’s nowhere to park and they have some sort of drive up type deal going on. A man yelled out to me in the car for my order and then told me to drive around to the other side. He was not rude but not friendly either at first. Then he gave my food/took my money and told me I was getting the best in Nashville. That remains to be seen. I paid $8.74 for the container in the picture. The meat inside did not have any bones or gristle like rib tips do. It was just chunks of meat (there was more meat than what’s shown. I had already eaten some). The meat was tender (but was mostly fat), and seasoned well. It just wasn’t rib tips. I’ve been to several restaurants in middle TN and I am convinced I will not find rip tips here.

We drove from Indianapolis, looking for some good southern bbq, found this place and oh my goodness… best brisket sandwich and Mac and cheese ever! We will be back! And we need more of that fruit tea!! (And maybe an invite to thanksgiving?)

It’s a shack, and we all know that’s the best place to find the real good food. Best ribs I’ve had here in Nashville the past 9 months. Fall off the bone? Check. Them bones fall off themselves. Meat is tender, well seasoned, and still moist. Those baked beans are worth every penny. Will be back.

Was not impressed. Someone suggested it to me and I should have ignored em! Got the leg quarters meal. It didn’t come with sauce (I wasn’t told/asked if I wanted some- usually you at least get asked). Chicken was in no way tender. Skin was tough. Seasoning was ok. Definitely didn’t make me wanna say “ooh wee!” Place needs a huge reno! Big time overhaul! Fruit tea was good though. I easily figured out what he put in it, & it ain’t worth $3. Fries were fresh. I noticed the Mahalia Jackson pic on the sign, but in the famous lyrics of another famous Gospel singer, Shirley Caesar, ” I won’t be back I won’t be back I won’t be back , no more no more no mo-ore.”
