The portions were small and it was more expensive than other Thai restaurants in town. There was zero presentation. Just a massive plop into a box, it was very unappealing. I love Thai food, and have wanted to try Mekkala for awhile. The flavor wasn’t terrible, and there was plenty of spice even in the mild dishes. That was a relief, and the veggies in the stir fry were crisp. Really nice servers. I wouldn’t eat here again though.

Lovely restaurant! Family owned, and son/host Alex was very friendly and helpful in our ordering. I got the eggplant and crispy tofu. Eggplant was phenomenal texture, crispy and seared exterior and silky tender on inside. Mild level sauce is so flavorful. Crispy tofu is light and spongy, we’re not sure what magic they use but it was perfect. Homemade golden sweet sour sauce pairs wonderfully. Not pictured: green salad and oolong tea. This was a great afternoon meal, thanks for having us.

My first time here and I can say they have elegant table setting, the place is neat including their restroom. I love the food that we ordered and the portion size is a lot. We are only 2 but it’s already good for 4. We dont have to get their attention to refill our drinks because they will just ask you right away. Staff are very attentive to their customer. Including the cook and servers they’re like 5 or 6 but all of them are very energetic and the vibes are so positive.

This food here is so amazing. For starters, they have (I believe) 6 different levels of heat, so you can pick what’s right for you instead of burning your tongue off, or having no heat at all. The service is spectacular, and was really helpful. The Pad Thai Drama is my definite go-to. And you absolutely have to top it off with the deep fried bananas for dessert. I ate every bite of food on my plates, including appetizers and desserts. The salad, and the cucumber salsa with the appetizer were both out of this world. The price is reasonable, especially for the quality and quantity of your food. The wait time is bearable, as well. One of the few places in Chico that I have nothing negative I can possibly say about it.
