I have passed by this restaurant 1 million times and never went inside! I can’t believe I’ve been missing out all this time! The atmosphere was so fun!! Between the homemade pasta, homemade bread and homemade desserts. I never wanted to leave! Service was excellent! Food came out really fast too!! I will be going back! Photos do not do it justice!

Legit Italian food with great service that goes above and beyond. My kids took me for Mother’s Day which can be a bad day to review a restaurant, but we didn’t feel crowded or rushed. The food was excellent, drinks were delicious, and the cannoli was in my top 3 of all time. We wanted a couple of things that weren’t on the menu, and were instantly obliged. If you’re concerned about individual cocktail prices, ask before ordering, as there is no cocktail menu, and they were on the expensive side. The upside is, if they have the ingredients, they will make anything you desire.

Food taste unique and authentic but too much oil in the sauce. Wait time was like 10 minutes. Sat outside with the family and there was water on the floor where we sat. The waitress cleaned it; however I noted more water after the cleaning. I guess there is a leak somewhere. They should have observe and not allow people sit there, as it jeopardizes customer’s safety. I hope they fix the problem before someone falls.

This was our first time dining at this restaurant and the food was alright. However, the service was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. First of all, the staff was rude and ignored us the whole time we were dining. The staff acted like they wanted to get us in and out ASAP. Drinks were never refilled. Despite the poor service, we were charged 20% tip due to large group. Secondly, we felt uneasy due to suspicious behavior of a staff. One member of our table finished his food early and took his son out for a walk while 5 of us were still at the table eating. My friend then noticed a restaurant staff had followed him and his son all the way to Harris Teeter and back to the restaurant. We are not sure what the staff’s intention was to follow my friend and his kid but this experience has left us feeling very uneasy and uncomfortable. Perhaps the manager can provide an explanation after seeing this review. Not that it matters because it’s safe to say we will never come back again.

This is stop 2 on my quest for the best Italian in Charlotte. So far it is the top choice but I have a lot more to try.

The food was delicious. I wasn’t planning on finishing the whole dish, but I did because the food was really good and well-seasoned (unlike other Italian restaurants where I found their pasta dishes to be way too salty).

We have been to this restaurant time and again and have never been disappointed. We were there as a group of 8. We had timely service. We had David waiting on us. He did a great job describing the specials, suggesting the wines, and attending to our every request. Our stuffed mushroom appetizer was good. The freshly made in house pasta took each dish to a new level of excellence. I had the special of the day: fresh pasta with shrimp, crab and lobster in a creamy sauce with sun dried tomatoes and spinach. It was perfection. I’ve never had a better pasta dish. Compliments to the chef. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan which he loved, though it could have used a little more sauce. Everyone in our group was very happy with their choices. Dolce Osteria will continue to be our favorite Italian restaurant in the Dilworth area.

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS . Hole in the wall location. Co-worker recommended this restaurant to me. Never heard of this restaurant in all the years I’ve lived in Charlotte . Red flag !!!! People and environment very unwelcoming. Didn’t feel valued as a person. Food ridiculously expensive for the portion you get. Lukewarm food. Entrees do not come with bread or salad. Cheap! Food was average. Better value at Olive Garden. Eat here at your own risk. You’ve been warned!!!

Rita outdid herself yet again! Portions were a good size. Extremely fresh ingredients, especially the calamari, everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Not dry at all, chicken and veal dishes were tender and juicy. Desserts amazing – it was hard to pick a favorite! The stuffed mushrooms and the meatballs are excellent. Dolce is a must try for sure!

Lots of potential here but they nickel and dime which made the experience unsatisfactory. They give free bread which is fairly tasty but limit it to just 2 baskets. Each additional small basket is $3 – it’s bread, come on. The calamari is not fried which is a very pleasant surprise but the flavor of the calamari was over powered by the peas. The entrées were delish. However, they charge $4 if you want Rita’s homemade noodles. They also charge $8 for a side of noodles in olive oil.
