Okay, I’ve finally eaten at all the Mexican restaurants around Gonzales over the last 2 years, this is my absolute favorite. The food at this place is amazing, the prices are unbelievable for the amount of food you get. Each meal was around $10. Dont judge a book by its cover, you have to give this place a try! The food speaks for itself! Our server Maria was excellent and very attentive.

Good fresh food and prices are quite reasonable. The everyday lunch menu is a nice touch and the portions are plenty. Service was also good. Could use a little attention cleaning the place up though.

Very good price for the meal, but the fruit flies flying around had me on edge. The chips were a little thick, but the salsa was very good. The chicken fajitas were properly salted and even though it was lunchtime I got the dinner portion.

Food was ok. Drink selection wasn’t good. They offer 2 (very small) margarita choices that are pre-mixed. Service was awful. Plates took forever and came out one at a time, so some were finished eating before others even got their food. Bill was very expensive and they don’t give you an itemized list. We won’t return.

Closer to authentic than most Mexican restaurants. The food is really good, it’s just not my favorite type of food. I scored it a five because everyone I was with though it was amazing. The service was good, but the language barrier kept it from being great – probably just our server. If you like Mexican food, this may be the place for you.

Let me tell you guys about El Meskal. It’s the most traditional Mexican food I’ve had since I lived in California and mom married into a Mexican family I love this place. The service rocks and the servers are awesome. The steak tampicana is the best ever. Sorry I know I spelled it wrong. Go check them out you won’t regret it

Another hidden gem, right in my neck of the woods that I’ve never stepped foot in until today. Mexican food isn’t at the top of my list, but when I’m craving it, I’m REALLY craving it. Honestly this is probably some of the best that I’ve had in awhile. I got three tacos, one with beef and two with steak. I also got the steak nachos. Everything was delicious and they weren’t stingy with the meat. I’ll definitely geaux back soon!!
