I came with a friend for dinner. The portions were small relative to the price, but the food was decent. For about 45 minutes it seemed like a man was standing by the counter and watching us. But when we looked over at him he would look up at the TV. It wasn’t until a waitress came over and pressured us to pay immediately even though we weren’t done eating, that I realized the man was the owner watching my friend and I, trying to ensure that we didn’t dine and dash. Once I gave the woman my card he went away. What he should have been watching was the the roach that kept crawling back and forth from a crack in the ceiling to a painting on the wall. It was not clean and not a welcoming experience. I do not recommend dining here.

Stopped in to try some vegan lunch. Garden roll, Tom yum with veggies and fresh roll. Very good. Soup was amazing.

I recommend the Cashew Chicken dish or the Salmon Teriyaki. Both dishes taste great! I do have a couple complaints. The past couple times I dined at Varee, my dishes lacked sufficient vegetables (for the price, you can do better than this, Varee). Secondly, the dishes are not brought-out and distributed at once. Whereas one person is halfway finished with their meal, another is just getting started. This past weekend, one of my party’s members complained his dish was not nearly as hot as it usually is—a mistake? Another noticed the vegetables were poorly chopped (could have been chopped much smaller). And yet another was handed an extra plate of rice he didn’t order. Varee has a good reputation for its tasty food, but perhaps there’s more people than the staff can handle at times.

So I really love Thai food, and Asian food in general. The spices and richness of the food is always delightful when done well. This place does exactly that. We had two appetizers and two main dishes. The fried spring rolls were flavorful and had an amazing crunch accompanied by a great dipping sauce. We had the yellowtail and it was served with a jalapeño on it and again, the sauce was a great dipping condiment that. Now for the main event we had the pork belly ramen and spicy fried rice. The ramen (tonkotsu) was delicious with great flavor, and the pork belly was massive. Great dish all around. The star of the evening was the Spivey fried rice. It was amazing. Great spice and great flavor. Not overly greasy with big plump shrimp. I love the bok Choy and crunchy onions in. The place was small but very well done and had a casual, but nice casual vibe. Good for hanging out or a date. I would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent service, never a dissappointment. My favorite dish so far is the cashew chicken. I would also recommend the Lanna Curry Ramen. The chicken was delicious. My least favorite one was the Khao-Soi (Forgive me if I spelled that wrong). I just didn’t like the coconut taste in the curry. I love their sticky rice with coconut ice cream. It reminds me of arroz con leche.

I’ve visited this restaurant many times and have tried several things on the menu. It’s amazing every time! The service, the food and the vibes. Today I went for lunch and the restaurant was packed full of people… my food came out in less than 15 minutes. So so good!

I loved the Tom Kha soup and vegetarian spring roll, which has a Vietnamese flair with tofu and a great peanut sauce. They fixed the fried rice without fish oil and added lots of veggies and tofu.
