I had my eye on this place for a while, and it didn’t disappoint! It was quite nice and laid-back, and the food I ordered was absolutely delicious. Not only that, but everything sat well in my stomach afterwards. I hope to come back soon!

This is my first time eating at Kuya’s and I definitely will be back. Ordered “Imani’s favorite” and boy is it delicious! Friendly atmosphere and great service!

Authentic food, I really enjoyed the halo halo. The mac salad was really good! Pretty much everything we ordered we enjoyed. It just hit different, felt fresh and made to order. Nothing was cold or blah tasting. It was just an all around good experience.

Look. Food was ok. Pork tasted typical of this dish. No cabbage or anything so it is straight pork. Rice was ok little old. Mac salad was a disappointment as it was a sweet Mac. And I prefer the traditional style.

The food was AMAZING!! We found out about this place through the local Chamber and it’s quite the find! We also greatly appreciate their support of the community. Super nice folks too!!

It was a long day and after driving 16 hours from San Jose to Portland, we were missing some good home cooked Filipino Food. And Kuya’s Islander Cuisine did not disappoint. Food was served hot and crispy and full of that home style cooking. Everything we ordered was delicious and did not expect to finish. The lumpia was hot crispy and meaty that we were so tempted to order more. Krispy para was to die for. We ordered 2. And dealt with it appropriately. Laing reminded me of home. The fried fish was worth the wait. The pork liempo was full of porky goodness and crispy and paired well with my beer and the sauce. The special Amanie’ favourite was awesome.

I love this restaurant with all of my heart! It reminds me so much of my moms cooking growing up and this is a place that I will forever be grateful to have experienced. I HIGHLY recommend their sinigang! My mom would make this dish whenever I felt sick growing up and this is so close to the taste of hers that I could cry .

Food was delicious and on par with my Nanay’s (mother) cooking. Definitely has the same taste and feeling of Filipino home cooking. I didn’t get to try the Hawaiian food, but do recommend the Filipino food. Definitely on my list of places to go back to.

Called to order food for pick up, the lady on the phone said it’s gonna be 15mins. Arrived to an empty reception, need to ring the bell several times but still no one’s coming out. I waited until a younger woman came out and told me my order was not prepared coz the woman who took my order didn’t inform them so I waited for another 20ish minutes. It’s frustrating coz they wasted my time. Food is fine, not so impressed by it. Pancit is bland and very pale, lumpia is soggy and the kawali ain’t very crispy. I like their halo-halo and that’s about it that I enjoyed in their food. The place is clean and neat. Hopefully they will improve their customer service.
