The New Monopoly
Definitely the worst soul I’ve ever had . Gumbo was like gravy no seafood taste, bbq was drenched in sauce that had a metallic taste and the greens taste like plastic. Definitely feel as if you need to be from the culture to cook authentic soul food . I love Asians and Asian food but some foods we need to leave to the people who have origins in that ethnicity. Would never recommend or go back

Normally I would give this place five stars but my last visit with my sister from out of town. I took her there for breakfast last week as she loves biscuits and gravy and this place has the best hands down!! Unfortunately the service was not good this day. There were three of us that ordered breakfast. My sister and I both ordered the two egg breakfast with biscuit and gravy. My niece ordered chicken fried steak. My niece’s chicken fried steak came out first which was fine and then they brought my sisters 2egg breakfast a few minutes later and I never did get my 2egg breakfast.. I did get my biscuit and gravy so I did eat that but had to ask where my breakfast was and got a blank stare.. needless to say, we were on our way to Concord to pick up a family member at the hospital and I did not want to wait any longer for my breakfast so I canceled it and went to the restroom. As I went to the restroom they brought my breakfast so my sister told him I canceled it and made them take it back. I will definitely be back but I believe the service needs to improve. If it was busy that morning I would not mind as much but it was not that busy and we got there when they opened. People came in after us and got their food when I was still waiting for mine.

This review is for Sarom’s Southern Kitchen in Elk Grove. The food was just okay. The price point was average. We spent apprx $50 for two people. We received good service and the staff were friendly. This restaurant is in need of renovations.

This was the first time coming here. The food was amazing. The server was not. It was a little busy but not bad. We were sat right in the middle of the restaurant so I could assume we were not forgotten, but some how 3 tables that came in after us got their orders taken before us. We were about to leave but sense they finally took our order we decided to stay. It was definitely worth it. We had the hot chicken and waffles it’s amazing.

I don’t even know where to start. Hubs and I went to the El Camino location a few weeks prior and the food was amazing! So, I decided to take my daughter to the Elk Grove one as we were in the area. My shrimp and grits… Seemed to have been reheated so many times the red bell peppers had disintegrated leaving nothing but a bunch of pepper skins. Gross. The bacon which I remember being a crispy topping at the other store was sad and limp, cooked into the sauce. The grits were lumpy, big lumps. The shrimp were insanely hot and over cooked, but showed no sign of being grilled ( microwaved?). My daughter’s pancakes looked good but had an acrid burned taste but were not visibly burned like the griddle needs a serious cleaning. Booth seats with large rips. The place was pretty much empty, unlike the other location. This place needs some oversight maybe? We will not return to this location.
