Food truck at South Maui Gardens. I enjoyed both the fishless taco (banana blossom) with cheez and/or guacamole (one soft taco) and the street corn with toppings – really tasty. I applaud their zero-waste policy: square metal plates, stainless steel cutlery, cloth napkins. I want to try more of the menu.

I never proactively leave Google reviews, but this place truly deserves one! My husband and I were in Maui for a week on vacation, and came across Papio’s Place as we were searching for veggie-friendly food options around Kihei. After our first visit we were so impressed we came back three other times! The food is absolutely delicious (and not the “good enough” way you see in many plant-based restaurants – this is “I would want to eat here even if I weren’t vegetarian” delicious)! The menu changes regularly, but the one we came across was inspired by American southwest cuisine – if you end up finding this menu, we highly recommend the Mac ‘n’ Trees, the Asada Your Way (very spicy, beware), and the Street Tacos (all flavors are great, but the mushroom hongitas taco is the best). The people working at Papio’s Place are very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate to our not-so-spicy palate. As a plus, the food truck is in a space with other food options, and the atmosphere is amazing – outdoor seating, colorful decor with hanging lights, and sometimes there’s even live music. We highly recommend visiting Papio’s Place!

Tasty vegan food. Got the Cinco de Mayo tacos and the Mac and trees. Mac and cheese was very good especially for a vegan mac. Also very sustainable with reusable dining ware 🙂

We tried this place because every other truck was closed but we love it! We tried the corn and fancy fries and some drinks. They were all good. I really respect that they are practicing zero waste. They are making a difference!

Most amazing plant based vegan food! We are 110% stoked! Zero waste (huli zero) containers to go- thrilled about this. Fabulous five star service by Shauna; our compliments to John, the chef. Love it- try their asada burrito, bbq bowl & Mac n tree! Our 6 yo son loved the mac n cheese. We will be regular customers. Mahalo!

Whether you’re vegan, plant-based, vegetarian or simply enjoy AMAZING food, you NEED to check this place out. The food was absolutely incredible! The staff even stayed open a little after their hours, so we could order more! AND it’s zero waste! So it’s not only delicious, it’s also good for the planet!
