Beautiful restaurant. Great ambience. We came on a Friday evening with a large group and service was very good. There was live music which is always a plus. The drinks were fantastic, I had an old-fashioned, which was very good, but a little on the sweet side. The salmon was fantastic and had a strong mustard taste, which was to die for, if you enjoy mustard. The steak Frites were good, however, the temperature they were cooked at varied greatly, despite what was requested. One friend received a well done steak instead of the medium rare that she had requested. I would certainly go back whenever I visit Hartford, which may truthfully be never again.

Beautifully decorated restaurant with bar downstairs and outdoor patio seating. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. I ordered grilled prawns which was flavorful but the shrimps were not fresh. My friend ordered pork knuckle. According to her, it’s okay. If you get tickets to a show at Bushnell, you could get 10% off. But you need to ask the waiter person.

Really fantastic food! Nice ambiance with a small dining area upstairs and a good size bar downstairs. The Brussel sprouts appetizer was good but needed to be a little more crispy. We tried the pork belly BAO buns, which were phenomenal! My wife got the salmon and I got the mushroom pancetta linguine. Both were very good. I will definitely be coming back for more.

My boyfriend and I are both vegetarians and were blown away by this restaurant! The hostess Stephanie was so friendly, as were our bartenders. We shared the crispy brussels sprouts, hummus plate, and sage polenta plus some violet cocktails the bartender created for us. We left very full and very happy! We are traveling from out of state but will be sure to come back here if ever in the area again. Thanks for an outstanding night and for welcoming our service animal!

Had a takeout order and it was excellent. Everything was perfectly prepared and packaged super well so that it wasn’t ruined in transit. Had dates in bacon, arugula salad, beets, and deviled eggs. Eager to go in person and try more!

We made a reservation two weeks prior and were seated right away upstairs for dinner. Although our server came over to greet us right away and take our appetizer and drink orders, our two glasses of wine and two draft beers didn’t arrive for 40 minutes. We also didn’t have any water until the hostess noticed us waiting with empty glasses about 25 minutes in and went to fill a nearby pitcher to take care of us as we had finished our appetizers at that point. The food was delicious, as were the drinks we selected. We noticed several other servers circulating quickly, making several rounds throughout our time there. Our server was unfortunately not audible, timely, accessible or accurate in what she brought us, having mixed up our drink order. Ultimately we’d like to try Republic again as the food was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We feel it was more of an unfortunate draw of our server rather than on the establishment itself.

What a great hidden gem. We came to grab a quick drink on their patio during this beautiful day, and were amazed to see a very unique interior. The decor was awesome and the freaking bar is in the basement!

While tirelessly searching for a brunch spot, we came across this restaurant last minute and I think we made a pretty good choice. The atmosphere is comfortable and makes you feels like you’re almost at home and it’s uniqueness. There is a bar area downstairs, which makes great drinks. The promo they had going on for brunch was buy one mimosa and get one free, who can turn that down??? The food was also very delicious, I loved challah French toast! The staff was also very friendly and attentive. It’s a great place for groups as well!

Excellent experience despite rather slow bar service. It was a show (Bushnell) night so understandably the restaurant was packed. It took 20-30 minutes for us to receive drinks but meals came quickly and were delicious!
