The dim sum, dumplings, and egg drop soup at this were all fabulous! Though you might not expect much just by walking by, but this place is packed with a whole lot of love and flavor. Definitely don’t miss out on the dim sum with glutinous rice, soup dumplings or the pork dumplings! Service here was great – staff was friendly and helpful even though we ordered like 7 things on the menu. Definitely coming back and bringing more friends to Shanghai Taste!

We ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, Shanghai Rice Cakes and Kung Pao Chicken. The Beef Noodle Soup is the worst that I have ever had. The broth is very salty. The color of the broth is so dark it tastes and looks like they just dump bunch of soy sauce. The noodle is store bought type of dried noodle. They are thin and flat and there is no texture at all. The beef is tender and plenty of them. The rice cake is just OK. I had much better. There is not much meat and vegetable in them. They serve their food in to go containers and disposable utensils which is fine with us. My son likes the Kung Pao Chicken.

Ordered carryout recently. Disappointed in just about everything. The chive pocket tasted old and was refried. Definitely didn’t look or taste fresh. The XLB were chewy. The fried gluten was very sweet. Only thing that was ok was the rice cake stir fried with pork/veggies.

It’s hard to find Gi Chai pork rice cake in Rockville restaurants. I’m so glad they provide the option to customize it. It tastes delicious, and the portion is good. Highly recommended to order it!

We got orange chicken, beef with broccoli, jumbo shrimp w veg, and hot and sour soup. Everything was great, the best chinese food in months. The soup wasn’t too spicy but very flavorful. FYI the soup isn’t vegetarian, had chicken. The orange chicken was sticky and crunchy. None of the sauces were thin and watery.

Had the Orange Chicken, and Chicken and Broccolli, really not very good. Was on the fence about going after reading the poor reviews, but was hoping it was as good as the great reviews. There are items on the menu in chinese, and maybe that is the good stuff. I suspect that they serve two types of food with some dishes good and others not, won’t be back to find out.

I love love this place. First of all, I’ve been greeted by Emily quite often, and she has customer service down pat! The food there is quite good even if the surroundings are unassuming. I love the Singapore noodles, always tasty. Don’t pass this restaurant by, people! You won’t regret it! 😉

Came here for dinner before our flights, it didn’t disappoint with the handmade Xiao Long Bao which you can also see as soon as you walk in the store with their glass window showing the ladies making them.

I have had Spicy Crispy Beef in many places in Maryland. This one is very good. The beef is tender and the sauce is not too sweet. It could be a bit spicier (I will ask for this next time) and have more shredded carrots. The size of the order is also large enough for two or three people. Excellent find if you like this dish.
