Kinda like 5 guys but burgers not as big or as good, and you dont get a huge bag of fries. I ordered the BLT…it had alot of bacon, that didnt have alot of flavor, one small very thing tomato slice , and what looked like store bought sliced romaine lettuce on a hamburger bun… me, I like my BLTs on toast. Maybe give them a month or two to work out the bugs and find the people that want jobs. It was $28 for a double burger, 2 BLTs, a small fry and 2 small drinks. They do offer shakes that I didnt try and about 10-12 flavors of Blue Bunny Ice Cream

We love J’s. We have eaten at the one in Hamilton, MO several times, and just tried the one in Kearney. Both are great. Just be prepared to wait. The Burgers are made to order, so don’t expect to walk in and out quickly. It’s worth the wait though. I noticed people complain about price point – you are getting a non-chain burger. Also, our family orders 1 jumbo fry instead of 4 small fries. That helps too.

I will start with the atmosphere. Very cozy place. The name ties together well with the ship themed decor. The only note is to change the lighting. The open bulbs look nice but are very bright and low hanging. So I can’t look up to talk to someone I’m sitting without being blinded. Either raise them up or put a cover around them.

I have had the one in Hamilton and loved it. I went to 5 guys the following week. J’s has ended my wanting to go back to the 5. When Kearney location opened I wondered would it live up to Hamilton. It did. The burgers are great! I highly recommend giving it a shot but be warned other burger joints might be ruined for you after!

We came in for lunch with high Hope’s for a good burger. We came in at 12 ordered a mushroom swiss and a double cheeseburger and two small fries and 2 small drinks. It was almost $28 which I thought was a bit much. We waited for 40 minutes before someone came and told us our order got messed up and they hadn’t even made it. Got our food about 50 minutes in. It was decent but we probably wont be back based on our experience.

I was looking for a decent burger in Kearney and found this spot. The place is ok with neutral decoration but feels comfy. A few beer options would be nice to wash down the tasty burgers. Food is good! Tried the mushroom and Swiss burger, the jalapeño melt (spicy!) and the Cajun fries. I’ll definitively will be coming back/ordering again from here. As a bonus they have shakes and ice cream.

Incredibly expensive for an okay burger. We waited nearly 40 minutes for most of our food to come out lukewarm if not cold. For 4 people to each get a small fry, drink, and a burger it cost over $70 not including tip. I would not recommend this place.

We have eaten at the one in Hamilton and thought it was great. The one in Kearney was a joke. Starting with unfriendly or helpful employees and ending with a terrible burger. The cheese was not melted, heck it’s was still cold and I ordered the patty melt. The burger itself and the onions were not good. Won’t be back!

The price is a little high, but this place definitely has the best burgers and town, not to mention the delicious fries and tasty shakes. Would definitely recommend eating here if you’re looking for a good burger to try.
