I’ve been told by friends that the pizza here is great, so I figured I’d try it out. They were correct! This is some good pizza! We tried 4 types, the Maggio, buffalo chicken, regular cheese and pep, and the Sicilian extra cheese extra pep. All 4 were amazing. The crust on the Sicilian is nice and thick vs the regular pizza. A bit On the expensive side, but well worth it in my opinion. I will definitely keep getting my pizza here.

A friend of mine recommended it and I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. Typically recommendations dont work for me, but Virgil’s Plate makes excellent Pizza. If not for the hours and me forgetting of its existence at times, I would order more! Glad the owner is healthy though. Simply the best local pizza place in Erie, period.

I’ve lived around the corner from this place for over a year and have heard many great things about their pizza, so of course, I had to try them out. One day, my fiance and I decided to take a nice walk through the neighborhood and stop by Virgils to give them a try. The initial vibe I got when I entered was that it reminded me of a mom and pop shop. Small place on the corner, and even tinier once inside, and they did not offer any table seating to enjoy our food there. Otherwise, it was well kept, and the workers seemed to be happy working there, which is amazing to see at such a low-key place.

Delicious offerings at excellent prices! Only wish it was a lil more crispy and less doughy. Next time I’ll definitely ask for it to be cooked a lil longer.

Hands down best pizza in Erie. We always get the square slices and they never miss. Margherita is absolutely fantastic. Has a great artisan flavor to it. Chicken Bacon Ranch may be ever better: Exquisite slice. We’ve also had the buff chick square and the jalapeño ball, both also fantastic. Overall, amazing food and very friendly, hardworking staff.

Placed an order last night through the “Slice” app to our hotel since we are visiting the area and this place had great reviews. It took over an hour for delivery, but that wasn’t a big deal. Gave my kid a slice first bc our kids were starving and noticed she could barely chew it. I flipped it over and the entire bottom of the pizza was BLACK. I mean burnt to a crisp. We ended up having to pick cheese and pepperoni off and feed that to our kids bc the crust and pizza itself were a lost cause. Really surprised someone let this pizza out of the kitchen. Maybe they were having an “off” night, but we won’t try it again unfortunately… especially at $40 for a pizza and side salad (plus 20% delivery tip)

First time ordering pizza there last week. Pizza was amazing! Will definitely be back! Crust was delicious and I liked the option of everyone picking their own toppings.

Had a NY style pep and mushroom and a maggio tonight. Virgil’s just keeps getting better. It was incredible the day it opened but ten years later it’s just jaw droppingly good pizza. The attention to detail on the dough and sauce is particularly incredible. It becomes clear very quickly that no corners are cut and this pizza isn’t like anything else you can find in Erie. Nothing in Erie comes close to this
