The arepas were OK. They were a bit dry and thin. My only serious complaint was the owner’s behavior. He was on the phone for half of my stay and he was speaking very loudly. Please be mindful of your paying patrons. My meal would had been more enjoyable had the atmosphere been quiet and peaceful.

I loved it! The place is very comfortable, you really feel like you’re in Colombia, the service is so nice and food.. OMG I really loved it tequenos and EMPANADAS are just delicious! And I have a lot of time without drinking passion fruit juice. Definitely I’ll come back just to try all the food!

We had been wanting to try this spot since their grand opening. Arepas Pues has such great reviews and high Yelp rating, so we were surprised to see that they were so dead on a Friday evening. Especially when all the restaurants in the area were packed.

So, it was my first time coming here. I’ve had arepas before and I was dying to have them again. I got the mini basket and it was amazing. I also got the arepa de choclo and it was good, but I was a bit disappointed that the cheese wasn’t stuffed inside of it like I’ve had it before. Also got some jugo de maracuyá and the flavor was great. Overall, it was good. Will come back 🙂

I am so sad about this place to know that it’s going down hill ever since it started, it was customer service with table service and the food was fresher. As you can see in the pictures the chicken is dry it was 6:44pm when I got served and I asked when was the chicken made the server told me it was made 5pm this just let’s me know that they aren’t making many things fresh. They don’t have dressings for salads ready. I am sad to say that this might be one of those places that will close soon. Since its losing a lot of the original origin of Colombian roots.

The food here is really good. Every once in awhile you get an arepa that’s dry or doesn’t have much flavor, but overall the combinations are excellent, and some of their other dishes are delicious too. The chicharron is yummy and decadent, the tostada with guacamole is tasty, the sweet corn arepa with salty cheese is awesome ( I mean, honestly we ordered it for our daughter, and we ate more than half of it ourselves), the Cubano sandwich is the real deal (no cold cuts here!) However, if you’re in a hurry, don’t bother. The service is extremely slow. They’ve also gotten my order wrong a couple times for carry out. So, if we were just rating on service, we’d give it one star, but because the food is so good and it’s a nice little restaurant located in the heart of downtown Silver Spring, we give it 4!

Food is good just not a fan of the sausage and ground beef a little dry. Do we tip to get service? You don’t know what to do with the dirty dishes at the end and they don’t bother to take them from the table or tell you what to do with them (Comfusing) and no thank you nothing so service ain’t great.

The food was TERRIBLE tonight. The first few times I came here it was pretty okay but the food was absolutely terrible tonight & the service has CONSISTENTLY been declining. I will not recommend any longer. The food looked & tasted like they just THREW IT together. I absolutely did NOT appreciate the service tonight. Prior to coming in I wanted to place an order over the phone to pick up & pay for upon arrival & was told that I have to give my credit card number over the phone. Who trusts giving their card over the phone? Not me. That’s pure madness. I told the girl that I’d be coming in & I’d wanted my order prepared before my arrival. When I entered she whispered something to the only two women cooks present who looked at me & presented me with food that I (& my family) absolutely hated. I’ve patronized this business several times but it looks like they’re no longer worth the investment from me or my family. The food tonight was bad.
