Passing through Carlisle and wasn’t sure what to expect for the size of the shop. Very inviting atmosphere for a consolidated eatery. The desserts looked amazing but I’m limiting my sweet tooth but I included pictures for others’ temptation. I selected a turkey panini and was delightfuly surprised as different flavors came through each bite. This was more than just layers placed on bread, there was some flavorful artistry that left me wanting more. It may be easy to miss this little shop but I assure you that you don’t want to. I opted for the outdoor seating because the indoor were bar seating only. What Nona Ilva lacks in size, it makes up for in flavor.

I do hope this place succeeds despite the location it is in seems to be cursed. The interior work that has been done is an improvement over the last two times I was in there when it was a Mexican restaurant and then something else I don’t even remember.

A fantastic new gem in Carlisle! I treated myself to a mouthwatering pepperoni thin crust pizza adorned with savory mushrooms that was an absolute delight. The Tiramisu paired with a rich espresso was truly the perfect ending. What made the experience even more wonderful was the personalized service by the owner, Mattio, who went above and beyond. Not only did he serve with a warm smile, but he also shared some incredible travel recommendations for Italy, adding an extra touch of hospitality to the meal.

I went to Nonna Ilva’s with my friends, and we had the most wonderful time!! I shared the Italian Panini and an Arch of Happiness, and it was delicious! The staff is so kind, and I can’t wait to go back soon!!! ❤️

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! Handmade, rustic, large portions, fresh, and so delicious!! No matter what I’ve tried from their menu, it exceeds my expectations. It’s like walking into a cafe in Italy. The family that works there are so nice and they went above and beyond to ensure our visit was wonderful! The only down side is the building is so small. Not much in the way of atmosphere, but, they seem to make do with the space they have. We ate at the tables that were set up outside and it was lovely! To end our dinner, we had some of the homemade gelato. I want to try each and every one of their desserts! I can’t say enough about this little gem. Amazing!! Please, try it at least once and tell a friend….that’s how good it is.

This place opened up in a hole in the wall in Carlisle. Their atmosphere is hindered by this, but they make up for it with excellent food. The traditional pizzas have a crisp and airy crust you won’t find anywhere else in town, and the toppings are not light either. The cheese has a fantastic flavor that sets it apart from other local pizza joints, and this is just the pizza! They have traditional Italian meals available, and their appetizers could be full meals with their excessive portion size. I have been obsessed with this place since they arrived. They have another location in Harrisburg as well which I’d imagine might have more seating inside. I wish I had the fortitude to wait and take a proper picture prior to eating, but I couldn’t wait. They also offer desserts that look amazing but I was too full to partake. If you want the best pizza in town as of 2023, this is it.
