Centrally-located in the heart of Denver Downtown, Hwaro is within walking distance from the 16th street mall, The Ball Center. I’m no Sushi expert but my friend wanted all you care to eat Sushi so we found Hwaro. It was excellent to me. I ordered all over the extensive menu of offerings and loved them all. Only warning is this takes time, as exceptional food should. It came to us beautiful, tasty and as ordered. I have pictures but I don’t wish to take the time to identify them. Their menus have pictures so you can play along. Time for a long walk in the beautiful nearby park.

Great location and large windows. As a sushi and sports lover I was extremely excited for this restaurant to open last year but unfortunately the food (quality) is just not good. If you consider the prices ($$$) it’s even more disappointing. I hope they take a note from any of the 20+ great or even decent sushi restaurants within a 2 mile radius and change their food supplier or greatly reduce their prices (and stop offering raw fish). My advice: If the owner is willing to reconsider the restaurant’s entire concept for a significant increase in profit…turn this location into a beer/cocktail bar with a focus on sports (TVs!) Happy Hours and simple classic American food (wings, fries, good salads, burgers, small share plates) and I guarantee they would be, (minimum) 200% more successful, 99.99% of the time.

I liked it there. Pleasant and responsive waiters and good quality sushi, sashimi, ceviche! Would recommend, worth the price! The only thing that can be improved is the rice is not sticky. I enjoyed dinner there!

I order salmon tempora roll and paid for it, After reaching my destination I realized this is not correct. The host did not know how to do his job, as per he couldn’t find my item in the system, but was on the menu. I come here alot and am super disappointed.

The sushi is seriously so good! I’ve been here quite a few times now and the sushi just keeps getting better. I know, I’m a noob to this but they have different kinds of wasabi! Try the chopped wasabi is awesome!!

Wow, this is one of my new favorite sushi places in downtown Denver. The quality of the fish and ingredients are top shelf. They even have two kinds of scallops, your regular Bay Scallop and Japanese Scallops (which I recommend definitely get the Japanese Scallops, so good and they have a unique flavor).

Service was great the two waiters were attentive and friendly. Angry Yellow Tail Roll was my favorite. Carpaccio’s were okay tried the tuna,salmon and the spicy Albacore. The seared tuna carpaccio was very fishy. The sushi pieces of fish were small compared to the amount of rice given. A little less rice would have been preferred. Edamame and cucumber salad was great. Miso soup was just broth no tofu or seaweed in it. Pitcher of Sapporo was warm. Udon was good broth and onions but noodles sucked and fish cakes lacked. Spicy tuna crispy rice was very good and flavorful just a big portion for all you can eat
