Love coming here whenever we have a Mexican food craving. They have so many options with and without meat. Horchata is in a large cup and they give you a big container if it’s to-go. Salsa is super tasty with their bottomless chips. The service is always great and would recommend stopping in.

We had never been to this place before, but gave it a quick look on google & read some reviews. Well, I can tell you that I’ve been to many Mexican places over the years, in several states. Today was my first time ordering from here. Placing an order was easy. Picking up the food went smoothly. The reason for the two stars lies in the fact that the food wasn’t very tasty or likable. I order combination dinner #5 for my sister and I. The enchiladas was meh because it only had refined beans in them. The Spanish rice was also meh because it had no flavor. I think for right now I’m just going to stick with La Tolteca because La Tolteca includes more than just beans in their enchiladas and the sauce up top of La Tolteca’s enchiladas are delicious. But enough about La Tolteca, El Canelo’s food as a vegetarian wasn’t for my sister and I but it could be for you!

They don’t deserve 1 star! Food was awful! Beans were a watery soup. 7$ for bean dip which was like soup. Service was terrible. Waitresses couldn’t crack a smile if their life depended on it, let alone come back occasionally to refill drinks or water. I don’t know where these other people are eating that gave them so high reviews. Go to Don Juan’s. NOT this dump.

OMG A PUPPY
Walked in to check this place out. Only 2 customers eating in at the time. No one person from the staff acknowledged my presence. I stood there for a few minutes. Nothing. All I wanted was to see a menu and possibly place a to go order. They didn’t care for my business. I walked right out. Decided to go drive elsewhere for my tacos. EL CANELO do better.(It was yesterday Tuesday around 1-2 pm) Check your cameras you’ll see exact time.

I was there today. It was busy and they took my number and texted me 30 minutes later when a table was ready which is convenient. The decor was great. The food was wonderful (I had a chicken fajita salad & Spanish rice, husband had a quesadilla. Our server was so nice! I can’t remember his name but he was wearing temporary tattoos on his face for Cinco de Mayo. We used to go to another place on Allen St in buffalo by that place hasn’t been good. I’m so happy we found this place. Will definitely be returning!!

This is the best Mexican food I’ve had in the US outside of California. I always get the pollo y camaron, and it is consistently amazing. I’ve been coming here for years and the quality has never declined, and the service has always been fast and excellent. I don’t think you can go wrong with a single thing on their expansive menu. Get the chorizo and cheese dip to go with their amazing chips!
