Old style traditional Japanese food, in a good way. Will not find outrageous topping and fillers. Just good home style food. Made with pride and love by the owners. They treat you like honored guests. Where else can you find sukiyaki? Thier Japanese style steak is outstanding. Been going there for over 20 year, and will be back.

We are fairly new to the area and finally tried this place. So happy to have delicious and authentic Japanese food. The owners were very kind and friendly to us. Teka Don had fresh and abundant Tuna and the Katsu Don was tender and savory. Much umami! Tempura was light and crispy. Best green tea I’ve ever had. We didn’t try any rolls, but look forward to trying them next time.

Food was great but had to wait quite a while just to have our order taken, let alone receive the food we ordered. Probably about an hour before we got our food. Not so sure if our experience was an anomaly but it seemed like it was just a two person operation. My guess is that like any other mom and pop restaurant, they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Need to hire some help to more effectively serve their customers but can’t afford to hire said help.

The food was good, but we had to leave before my wife got her order due to how long it was taking them, around 1/2 an hour before they realized we hadn’t gotten her food. We were told it isn’t usually that long, they were just really busy. The sushi I had was good though.

Disappointed with our meal based on the great reviews online. The rice on the sushi rolls was overcooked and we were surprised by how small the pieces were. Our meal was delivered, so maybe eating at the restaurant would be a better experience?

Only been here a couple of times, but the food has been consistently very good. Most recently enjoyed a tasty and filling “Michi Roll” with a bento box, washed down with Okinawan Orion. Still fairly expensive for Marina, but you do get what you pay for: quality stuff.

Been going to Michis restaurant for 30 years, he used to be in Salinas. Foods always has been good. His very elderly mother does her best at service ( comical & cute) that’s a small price to pay for his dedication all these years. Always a big smile!

Really wanted to love this place, however…Waaayyy overpriced! This restaurant is in Marina, California. While less than 10 miles from Monterey there is no reason for a restaurant in this city to charge this much. Slooowww service! Keep this in mind if you are in a hurry. That said, the food was pretty good and not over-prepared and the staff was friendly.

The tempura was dead solid perfect, udon broth rich & complex, seaweed salad citrus-y and light vs the usual soya heavy dressing. This place is as good or better than most big city Japanese restaurants.
