This place just opened up so I think they might still be working on things. So far the brisket is pretty good, but the chicken is a bit dry. I got the mac n cheese with brisket and couldn’t finish it because they added way too much BBQ sauce. I couldn’t really tell if there was any cheese, so I don’t feel like I can really give it a rating. The BBQ chicken sandwich was pretty good and the excess BBQ sauce helped keep the chicken from tasting too dry. I think this place has potential, but I will probably wait a few months before giving it another try.

We deeply enjoy the pulled pork at Savage Hog and have been a fan for a couple years since we met them while they had their food truck. I believe the owners name is Denny. Very personable and has not swayed much at all in menu items since having the truck. I’d like to add another star if he decides to add other menu items such as a French fry option for the sides. I was a bit unsatisfied with the Mac n cheese which seemed reheated and not very fresh. Shannon, the young lady who helped us at the front counter and the delicious pulled pork alone earned the 4 star review. We will return to try the brisket in the future as the menu is quite limited. I would like to also add that the sandwich we received is a very large portion. We paid $9 per sandwich and $4 for the cup of Mac n cheese. Please see photos. With ours we chose the Carolina sauce… a huge favorite of mine when I eat pork down south! They nailed it! The restaurant also seemed very clean and noticeably freshly renovated.

Takeout only, no dining area at all. Very basic menu and items, standard side is bagged brand-name potato chips. But, I thought it was well cooked and had good flavor. Be sure to double check your order.

I’m a BBQ nut..im.addicted to great BBQ…BUT these are the Best Rib tips in the Area. The owner was really nice and made some great suggestions. I personally didn’t like the beans but the tips were perfectly seasoned but next time I’m askin for more sauce. Definitely a place to go.

Armadillo eggs. You have to try the armadillo eggs – $5 each.. just try them. Cream cheese filled jalapeno wrapped in outstanding sausage and cased in smokey crispy BBQ crusted bacon.

Pork tacos were good. Brisket seemed like it was cooked a couple days old. Definitely not made fresh daily. Was told we couldn’t get more than a pound because they needed to save the rest for the sandwiches for the rest of the week. Disappointing.

The ribs were Great! Brisket was Fantastic! Pulled pork Excellent! The Sweet sauce is little too spicy for me, next time I’ll order it on the side. Didn’t care for the Mac & cheese. $10-12 each

Stopped in for the first time today. I had the meatloaf with baked beans and cornbread. Everything was delicious. My wife had Mac and cheese with pulled pork and cornbread. She also thought that was delicious. We will definitely be back again.

Brisket and Mac Cheese or Pulled pork and Mac an Cheese phenomenal the house sauce is a little sweet but it’s great kids loved the Mac an Cheese by itself. Also tried the corn bread and that was also amazing. Excited to find this local business and become a patron. P.S. they deliver with lakeshore delivery partners

My first visit. The staff can’t answer questions due to lack of education about the products. I should have taken that as all I needed to know. The food was okay. The brisket was over done and a bit chewy . The pulled pork and the “Carolina” sauce were good. The coleslaw was kind of bland. The southwest corn isn’t worth eating I threw it away after tasting it. For the price I will pass on eating here again !
