I had heard great things about the Indian restaurants in Bakersfield so took the opportunity to try one when I was driving through. The Royal Taste of India (just off I-5) did not disappoint. The food is excellent and homemade. My friends and I ordered a handful of dishes from the menu and they were all delicious: carefully prepared to order with fresh ingredients and complex flavors. I love Indian food but don’t reliably remember what the different dishes are called so we just ordered at random and struck gold with all of them. We ordered from the food truck but ate inside, where they have tables and chairs. I will absolutely go back the next time I am driving past and try more things on the menu. The food is served as takeout so ask for plates and forks if you are dining in.

We were on a road trip back to LA and stopped for gas – and kind of hungry, and then saw this food truck by Royal Taste of India. Hungry as we were, we ordered 2 paranthas (1 aloo, 1 gobi) , and 2 lassis. The service was amazing, so friendly, both the owner, and the 2 ladies who were cooking, all smiles and wonderful to talk to. And now the food – INCREDIBLE! I am so picky and particular about my Indian food, and this was so very authentic and so tasty. My only regret – I wish they had a restaurant in LA!! It’s a must try!
