I’ve been trying to eat here for s while and finally I was able to get in. 1st I was thrown off by the incenses burning in a food service area, it gave me a headache. The tables are covered in plastic sheets from dollar tree with sticky stuff. And the glasses of water brought to us had something black on it like grease it something. Finally, our food comes but one by one which should not happen everything should come out altogether. We had to wait for everything to come out so we can eat together. Our drinks never appeared and they are limited to brands no raspberry iced tea,(I like raspberry iced tea with my breakfast) make sure u ask for a cup with ice they just give u a can. My Bob the builder skillet did have added items I did not want like onions and green peppers but I ate it and it wasn’t that bad. I really enjoyed my meal. My daughter’s order was messed up also they added cheese on the eggs we didn’t ask for. I would like to go back but I hope they don’t have incense burning.

This restaurant used to be amazing. I first tried this restaurant with my mother one Sunday after church. Although the old restaurant was small, the food was great! The owner and his daughter were very friendly. I was so happy with the first experience that I took my boyfriend to try it out at their new Forest Park location. I truly wish I hadn’t. The man who took our order was an older man who didn’t write down anything and walked away before my boyfriend could finish placing his order. He didn’t come to check on us the entire time we sat there until our food came. The food tasted fine when it came out but it took nearly 2 hours for it to do so. Mind you, there was only 6 people in the entire restaurant. Most of the items I wanted to order, we were told wasn’t available. I hope this restaurant can do a 180° before the end of the year. I’d love to give them another chance because I know what they’re capable of.

First time trying…probably the last. Ordered delivery which took forever – the delivery driver was very nice and explained the chaos at the restaurant because she was waiting forever for the food. With all that time, I’m thinking I would have hot fresh food. The Biscuit was cold and hard like a Hockey Puck. Couldn’t even bite it. The presentation of the food looked like left overs and was cold. Ordered coffee and a bottled water and was told they didn’t have either. Breakfast ruined!

Appreciate the effort. But owner needs to work on customer service desperately. Husband and me visited today, and I was put off by fact that you have to guess if your welcome to seat your self or wait to be seated? Oh, wait, staff is so short there is no one to greet you! The chef & owner was taking orders when we came in, first clue this will no be good! We waited about 10 – 15 min for water then 30min for food. Chicken & waffle & pancakes with egg & Sausage. Thought this is a bistro, right? Couple came in after us got there food before us, and the group before us are still waiting on there food!!!! Then bill was incorrect, no one writes down what you ordered, so know your food will be missing something! I would highly encourage owner to get a greeter and someone that really know how to run a restaurant! Will not be back! Other weird things that I don’t have time to mention! Please review your operation!

Yes , his establishment could use more help but he’s a black owner business doing it all ALONE so I’m going to ALWAYS uplift and praise a black man doing so. I love to support black businesses in this situation I would advise no one to eat there again. Today is mother’s day I thought let’s get some soul food. If I had read the reviews before I went I would’ve never went. My husband I experienced almost everything bad in the reviews when we first entered. Prices in the menu are not updated, food portions are small, food no taste or seasoning, most of all advertised soul food and no soul food. Wait period for take out was almost two hours, behind the bar area was a mess with items scattered everywhere. They need to do better. I would never go again

New to yen neighborhood, Definitely one our new faves! Season to perfection! Coffee and home made creamer was definitely a hit. Grits were amazing! The fact that everything is made to order and they don’t have have it sitting there definitely deserves more than 5 stars! Shout out to the waitresses for taking care of us!
