We should’ve turned around the moment we opened the door and could smell the carpet, but we sat ourselves anyway. Everything at the table was sticky, slow service, overlooked by the server, 2 different drinks tasted very off. It took less than 30 minutes to decide this place wasn’t for us. We cancelled our food order, paid for what we had and left. The server was friendly and apologetic, and the manager who was helping seemed kind from afar, but there is no reason for that restaurant to be that dirty.

Great on trivia night or to catch a game! Shamrocks has a classic pub feel with a bar and many tables. The staff is very friendly and work well together, running drinks and food for each others’ tables, which is good teamwork. The menu is thorough. Beers and cocktails were awesome! The soft pretzels with beer cheese are great. Did you know that beer cheese originated nearby in Winchester, Kentucky? I did think their chicken tenders were dry and bready. Not bad, just not really for me.

So, the Irish nachos were amazing, very cheesy and loaded with bacon. Love their ranch dipping sauce. Then, I got this one burger, the Roethlisberger, I believe, which had bacon and beer cheese, and it was scrumptious. Even tasted good as heated up leftovers I had two days later. I plan on returning to try their vast menu for other tasty experiences.

We don’t go to this Shamrock’s often (because of location) but we were there for trivia. Their food was the same great quality as the Patchen location and their service was on point. One thing I wish this location had is a larger beer menu display. Their bar menu was on a tiny chalk board and was hard to read.

Food is always on point. Love the o’rounds with beer cheese. Irish nachos are a great app. Friendly service and a family friendly environment. I do really miss the Iron Maiden pinball machine that was replaced with gambling devices but as Mick Jagger put it, “we cant always get what we want.”
