I don’t like bad reviews but I feel I’m obligated to. My mother and sister have worked for waffle house for years so I’m well aware of the standards. I feel like I grew up in one. This waffle house however was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. I come in, it’s dead and I sit down while everyone is on their phones listening to music. I noticed dirty tables and a dirty kitchen with a lack of food timers going. They asked me if I’d be doing takeout and almost seemed dismayed at the thought of me dining in. I knew what I wanted and ordered from the one person that acknowledged I was in the restaurant. They then went and hunted down the cook for that shift so he could attempt to make some food. His station was atrocious to look at. I can understand things getting messy but it’s impressive how bad it was considering it was dead all day. My server had to go on break (due to federal law for minors) which seemed to annoy the cook more. He couldn’t be bothered to hand me (the only person in the restaurant) my food and tried hiding how he butchered a waffle by flipping it upside down. He then went back to his cave where I didn’t see him for most of the visit. My server, despite being on break, got up to at least give me the food so it didn’t have to keep sitting there as it had already been a few minutes dying in the window. Everyone went back to their phones. I ate and food was ok, a bit burnt and quickly thrown together. Never got a refill, headphones and instagram made it hard for anyone to notice anything. Ultimately, just incredibly disappointing and I understand why it was so dead now. Service was nearly non existent (except for the one minor server) and place was filthy and food probably had sat out too long. I don’t expect a lot but I know what a good or even a somewhat decent waffle house can do and this wasn’t it. I wish them the best for improving.

Bit overpriced for the items and I don’t know why they close the indoor sitting every now and then. It was supposed to be a “Diner”, that means it should facilitate indoor sitting. People should eat at comfort at late nights sitting inside. In stead, they close the sitting even after the lockdown ended.

The Waffle house number 1192 Tennessee St. Tallahassee, FL is the most unprofessional restaurant I have ever been to. The female cook, today 12/10/2022 @ 1:45pm, got mad because I wasn’t happy with the waffle she was trying to give me. It had a quarter sized hole in it. I asked could they please make another one. She got mad and started throwing and slamming stuff. So, waffle house wants me to pay full price for 3/4 of a waffle. IF YOU LIVE IN TALLAHASSEE, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION. If you’re coming to Tallahassee you’ll get better service from a restaurant inside of a gas station. It’s embarrassing that Waffle house is letting this location represent the franchise. I will never in life go here again, even if I were offered free food for a year.
