I normally do not write reviews, but this restaurant may be a new favorite. The food is excellent and the staff/owner are so friendly. The portions are big and the dining area is spacious. I ordered the shrimp/veggie tempura and the lemon chicken, both were delicious.

My initial review of Hashi in Derby would have been 5 stars – when they first opened their food was amazing and the combination platters were unique with wonton soup, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon’s, plus the entrée and rice each served in their own compartments of the take out dish. Their drunken noodles were also out of this world. Sadly, the last two times we ordered from Hashi, the uniqueness was gone – they now serve the same style of combination platters as every other Asian restaurant in the area – no more soup & crab Rangoon’s and the entree and rice are now mushed together in a single compartment container. Very disappointing to see such good food & service become mediocre at best.

The food deserves 5 stars because it was great! However the feel when you walk in is not what we expected. The ambiance of it felt more like a fast food restaurant or a cafeteria. It is not decorated and it’s super bright. It was kind of loud as well. There is a short wall between some of the tables allowing noise to travel. They may want to put a glass partition up, which would look nice and probably help the noise level. But all in all – great job with the food! We will go back for take out but not for a Saturday evening date.

7/10. This review is based on the Chinese food portion: This is a solid Chinese food spot. Veggies were fresh, food was fresh. My general tsos was ordered extra spicy and it had a nice crunch to it. Egg rolls were nice and crispy and fluffy. A bit pricey for chinese food but then again inflation hits us everywhere. I will continue to try out other sections of their menu as they are the BEST spot within my immediate radius around. I wish them continued success!

This place is the best in the area!! The quality of the food is amazing, but the staff is also so great and accommodating. They always make sure of allergies and make the necessary accommodations (my bf can’t have egg, pork, or cashew, and the servers and cooks have always been super nice and made sure allergens were omitted). Tonight I made a take-out order and asked what on the menu was similar to mala chicken and they made a mala chicken dish just for us!! And it was soooo delicious!! Flavorful and spicy. I love this place and the people running it. Super super highly recommend this restaurant!!!!
