Nu-Way Weiners Menu – Macon, GA

Type : Restaurant

Location : Macon, GA

Who knew back in 1916, when James Mallis opened the first Nu-Way Weiner stand on Cotton Avenue in Macon, Georgia, that he had created a chili dog that would become an eating obsession?

The obsession continues today, and Nu-Way still serves the same secret recipe chili sauce and private label weiners. We also feature the famous MegaBurger® and are open early for breakfast.

We invite you to try our famous hot dogs and other fine foods at our nine locations in Central Georgia and experience the traditional taste of Nu-Way.

The rest will be history…

Randomly Bold And Beautiful
the hot dogs was good in favor but the bun was soggy and wet which is not good I like The toasted bun and they fall short of that. Maybe because it was almost closing time that’s why they fall short. I will come back and give it a try sometime soon hopefully I can change my view by then because this establishment do have potential. My daughter was only able to get two hot dogs one for me and one for herself they ran out.

Reminds me of “The Varsity” in Atlanta. I’ve driven by this place quite a few times when I’m in town for work. I usually try to eat healthy, but finally said what the heck. I got two chili dogs and they were small and petite but just the right size. Flavorful with a nice Frank and bun. I got the onions rings as my side and they were crispy, hot, and flavorful. The service is fast and the food comes out quick!! If you are in the area, stop by this staple. You won’t regret it.

They close at 9pm, I arrive at 8:48pm. Girl starts hollering out drive thru window saying they are closed and already cleaned up. So, do you stop serving before 9pm? Amazing no one wants to work and management does nothing. Hope the owners that write out the pay checks see this!!

Nu-Way can be an acquired taste. But once you have it, they are the best dog done all the way. The slaw dogs are good too. Come Mon-Wed to get the deal, 3 for the price of 2.

The staff at this location are the shining star. Time has worn away both the novelty of Nu-Way and the furnishings inside. What was once a Macon-based gem has now become a lackluster stop that is easily skipped. The staff was upbeat and accommodating, but it is clear that ownership does not care to provide a quality experience.

Drive through so no “atmosphere “. Service is somewhat slow but very popular so there are lines at drive-thru just like everywhere. The food is an old time favorite BUT for the 1st time ever they were very stingy with the sauce especially on the all-the-way burger. Fries are also very different than the ones they used to have. Still, “I’d walk a mile for a Nuway”.

This is one of the better stores. We ate inside and got our food pretty fast. They dogs are cooked with just a little char, which is the way I like them.
