I didn’t expect to find food this good at a food court! The dumplings here are amazing. So hard to decide which I liked more, steamed or pan fired, they were both so good. Pan fried cost a little extra and adds a nice crispy texture but steamed was clean (sans oil) and tasted very fresh. The crispy chicken soup noodle hits the spot on a cold day. It very flavorful and the noodles were served firm (the way I like it!). They give you a very generous portion of chicken. I left stuffed!

I only ordered the “Juicy Pork Dumplings” (also known as soup dumplings or xiaolongbao). They take about 10 minutes to prepare, but they were delicious and well worth the wait. I plan to stop by to eat some more before the end of my trip.

Their Taiwanese beef noodle soup is good and pretty good value. The noodles aren’t soggy at all (looks soggy but still pretty chewy) and we got 3 big chunk of beef — soft and well cooked. 5 stars!

Newport mall low key has some banger restaurants. I think because the surrounding offices have such a diverse workforce, there are lots of hole-in-the-wall places like this. I always get the Taiwanese beef noodle soup and it’s delicious. My only gripe w dumpling cafe is that on occasion the quality has been below their own high bar (beef can be a bit tough).

I’ve been here a couple of times and was quite satisfied the first few, but today I ordered my favorite, the fried pork over rice, and it came with mostly bones or over fried pieces… I usually don’t eat much, and yet I was hungry because of the small amount of edible meat I got today 🙁 a bit disappointed, for the price ($12.50) compared to other options in the mall, it felt like not good value.

This place has the best Taiwanese beef noodle soup in NJ and possibly is the best in Chinatown in NY as well. I can’t believe that a restaurant in a food court has food this delicious.

We had a day after wedding get together at our place and the original plan was to order some soup dumplings as a side, since they are typically a crowd pleaser. We ordered from Dumpling Cafe when we found out our usual Hoboken soup dumpling spot didn’t open until 5 pm on Mondays. We got 7 orders of the pork soup dumplings. Each order comes with 5 pieces and they’re each served in its own little tin pan, which really helps keep the dumpling intact. Everyone loved it, especially the presentation (since other places typically just serve it all in a plastic container. They were the first apps to be devoured.
